So...god already knows what will happen in the future. And god is infallible so that means you can't change it...so does free will actually exist?
I know that this is an old question but i've never really talked about it before. And this is compounded if we believe that biblical prophecies are legitimate. How do we square inviolable predetermination with free will?

Can creationism make verifiable predictions? Can creationism be considered in the same realm as science?
For something to be a scientific theory, it must be predictive. That is to say, it must be able to specifically predict something which has not yet been observed. Evolution theory can and has done this. For example, Tiktaalik. It was predicted tha...

Want to see a one hit K.O by evolution to young earth creationism?
Look no farther than the way the fossil record is stratified. It's absolutely incompatible with a young earth creation world view and i've yet to see any creationist adequately defend their position on this.

We seriously need to get a handle on all these pseudoscience bullshit health remedies.
There's obviously the human cost but we could also be saving all these endangered animals that are poached and trafficked because idiots believe that grinding up this or that part of their bodies will give them super boners or cancer immunity.

So, evolution. You've all heard of it. What are your top three criticisms of the theory?
What are your main stumbling blocks to accepting this theory the way you accept any other scientific theory?

What is your best counter evidence for evolution? Evolution is a scientific fact. Just like gravity. We can see that it happens
NO one can give evidence against evolution. The very BEST a creationist can do is to make an argument from ignorance which boils down to "I don't understand how x could happen naturally, therefore god is responsible". But i'm ope...

Do you think homophobia will virtually disappear within a couple generations?
These days it's only the ignorant, the closeted and the religious fundamentalists who seem to have a problem with gay people.

Be honest: when you read the bible what makes you think it is of divine origin?
There was a time in my life where i really wanted to believe and i tried hard to have faith and asked with all my heart that god reveal himself to me. But predictably he did not. And the more i read, the more it became obvious to me that the bible wa...

Is it morally just to inflict an eternal punishment for a finite crime?
Let's pretend that the crime of not believing is severe enough for a loving deity to punish his children. We're talking hell here. Is it just by any standard we recognize to punish someone infinitely for a finite crime?

Last thread kind of got derailed lol. To my theist peeps: Is it reasonable when the answer is unknown to conclude that god is the answer?
Many creationists will say "I can't see how life could have evolved, therefor i am justified in believing god did it". Is that a justified rational? Many will recognize this as a logical fallacy known as an argument from incredulity: I...

Why don't we train and equip modern soldiers with swords?
Sure, long range shooty shooty stuff is the way of warfare these days but still. When it comes down to close combat, swords are pretty flippin effective.

So i know politics is littered with national emergency threads at the moment but i'm still interested to know:
For those who think trump has made a good, wise and justified decision here, why do you think it was a good, wise and justified decision? How do you feel about a president using a national emergency to bypass congress in order to achieve his politic...

A question for the theists of SW, not atheists: Is it reasonable to conclude that in the absence of an explanation, you can use god as the answer?
