You can have only THREE spices and seasonings for the rest of your life...What do you choose?

Me: Salt (DUH), black pepper, chilli powder.

Salt and pepper.. And probably thyme. It goes with my favoured foods.😷
@whowasthatmaskedman

yeah pretty good. Salt and pepper are a must but thyme adds some nice flavour
mrs. dash (table blend) black pepper, cajun.
@beermeplease

Excuse me, a blend? Cheating.
@Pikachu not really...it's in one dispener
Thevy29 · 41-45, M
Meh, who wants to live in a world with only 3 spices
PatientlyWaiting25 · 46-50, F
chilli, garam masala, cinnamon.
lissah · 36-40, F
Pepper
Cinnamon
Chili powder
@lissah

People seem to like cinnamon....but i gotta have salt before almost anything else lol
BetweenLines · 36-40, F
Chilli powder, cumin seeds and black pepper
@BetweenLines

lol come on, cumin seeds? They taste a bit weird in most contexts. But at least we agree on black pepper
Black pepper, old bay, cinnamon
@EldritchFox

Isn't old bay made up of a few things?
@Pikachu yes but I thought I could get away with that 😆
@EldritchFox

Not on my watch!
Crazywaterspring · 61-69, M
Soy sauce, black pepper and cumin.
@Crazywaterspring

Ok that sounds fucked lol
At least the cumin. I think we can all do without cumin...and i do on occasion just drink a spoon of soy sauce straight up.
Crazywaterspring · 61-69, M
@Pikachu Some soy sauces have citrus flavoring. Cumin works really well in Latin, Philippine and South Asian food. Garlic is important too.
Home made meals are a must in my home. If you want BBQ done right, have an elderly Asian woman do magic on it.
fun4us2b · M
Garlic, Dill and Oregano...
@fun4us2b

I'm down with garlic and oregano....but dill? There are not many dishes that dill goes well with.
fun4us2b · M
@Pikachu Going for less overlap in flavors, I was going to say Basil, but decided I would cheat and say it's considered a green (like Arugula) so I could still have that!
LiLShrimp · 22-25, F
Black pepper, MSG salt, and Chinsu hot sauce.
@LiLShrimp

Ooo MSG, yeah
chasingMonday · 41-45, M
Old bay, chili powder, Italian seasoning
@chasingMonday

lol ok italian seasoning is cheating because that's several ingredients.
Old bay too
chasingMonday · 41-45, M
@Pikachu I know :)
Salt, pepper, cinnamon
GeorgeTBH · 36-40, M
onion powder
garlic salt
black pepper
@GeorgeTBH

Garlic salt seems like a bit of a cheat. That's a combo for sure lol
Baybreeze · 41-45, F
Garlic, cinnamon, and salt
@Baybreeze

ooo Garlic....i gotta have the spice but garlic might be worth not having the spice.
Black pepper can pick up the slack
SirLirkALot · 46-50, M
chili powder is really a combination of seasonings.

salt, pepper, and something fresh. fresh basil...
@SirLirkALot

Oh fuck me then. Ok, i'll change that to just chili peppers i guess? Either that or garlic as many people have said.
I like the spice but garlic is dope too
SirLirkALot · 46-50, M
@Pikachu I would take paprika over chili pepper, especially if you cook a lot of meat
@SirLirkALot

Hmm i'm not so hot (lol) on paprika.
Khenpal1 · M
salt, mustard, sri lanka cinnamon
Khenpal1 · M
@Pikachu it has mild taste , less bitter and my liver is safer, also I use mustard seeds for cold and with white wine.
@Khenpal1

Mustard is good. That adds a nice tang to a lot of things. Never been much for cinnamon though. Smells nice but it tastes like cinnamon lol
Khenpal1 · M
@Pikachu I dry roast mustard seeds and add cinnamon to yogurt ,
Salt
Calabrian chili sauce
Italian seasoning or herbs de Provence dried
@JonLosAngeles66

I think you're sneaking in some extras there.
Birdbox1986 · 31-35, F
Salty and pepper with olive oil
@Birdbox1986

Hmm i''ma give you an extra one because i don't think cooking oil counts
Degbeme · 70-79, M
Salt, Pepper and cinnamon.
ronisme1 · 70-79, M
Salt, pepper and garlic powder
@ronisme1

Yeah i didn't think of garlic. I can't decide if i need garlic or spicy more....
salt. pepper. vanilla
@Bexsy

I don't use vanilla much but it is tasty
@Pikachu i can get by with salt and pepper, but some things ( baking) better with vanilla
@Bexsy

Yeah that's where i think it's a good inclusion. Salt and pepper go a long way for most meals but vanilla really helps out a dessert.
Salt , pepper and cinnamon.
@OogieBoogie

Not bad. That covers the savoury for meals and the desert
RedBaron · M
Who said that?
@RedBaron

....me...I said that lol
candycane · 36-40, F
i need five

@candycane

I guess i do need to spice up my life.
Ginger, Posh, Sporty

nvm, wrong list

garlic, cilantro, allspice
(I'm going to assume blends count as more than one item)
@Pikachu why is allspice cheating? 🤔
@SnickersDOM

Because it's a bunch of spices together!
@Pikachu but it's not, it's the fruit of the Pimenta dioica tree, I've crushed the tree's leaves in my fingers at Thomas Edison's winter home in Florida

but there are multiple examples of blends in these comments, hence my original comment and conscious choice of individual items (and items I don't think of using together, so as to have a variety)
