Christians, where are most of you these days on the subject of the Great Flood of Noah and his fabulous Ark?
Was it just a story? Was it a true historical account and can be scientifically explained or was it a true historical account that required a whole mess of miracles?
I mean, the science from several different fields precludes a global flood ever having happened but i don't expect the general public to be very familiar with that so i'm interested to hear what the general Christian position is on that in the year 2026. Obviously i'd be happy to explain any scientific impossibilities upon request.
@Convivial Not to mention the air quality with all those farting animals and only one window way up top. Even the Ark Encounter which houses no actual living animals has industrial ventilation systems...
The Noah flood story is simply a war story using the flood as a methapor for the invasion. The countries around the area existed before te war and they existed after the war (flood). They didn't even get wet.
The important thing bout the Noah story is that he is the only major character (including Jesus) who did exactly as he had been told to do without whining. And when it was over he had a big barbeque and got falling down drunk.
Jellyfish have more brains than people who believe that Noah endured an actual flood that covered the whole planet.
Well i mean, i know things like the olive branch and the dove are symbols of peace...but is that something incorporated into the bible story or are those symbols a result of the story?
