I don't eat mammals and live in California where our laws around animal welfare, particularly with pigs, has changed the game. And it's been hard to watch the current push against those laws from states that want to sell their product here. If they want to sell in CA they have to abide by our laws. But they don't like it and are pushing back hard to maintain the terrible conditions that have existed for so long. Makes me sick.

I'm not sure there can ever be fully ethical consumption of animals but anything that at least makes the process more human is a move in the right direction.
And of course there are so many people who couldn't care less as long as they're making money from it.
They're the same sort of people who see a post about veganism and think it's clever to respond "Hurr durr i 'm gonna go eat a bacon steak burger now".
