Did you know that Humans and our closest relatives the Chimpanzees actually share a language?
Chimpanzees use vocalization to communicate but many more gestures and get this: over 95% of the gestures they use are the same gestures used instinctively by human babies and toddlers up to age two.
In total, researchers found the human toddlers used 52 discrete gestures to communicate, including clapping, hugging, stomping, raising their arms and shaking their heads, often stringing the moves together to convey complex ideas. It turns out that the chimps also used 46 of the same gestures, meaning there’s a 90 percent overlap.
I think we share 98.8% of the same DNA with chimps and the reason they cant vocalize like we can is due to the structure of their .. ..idk what to call it. They're built slightly differently than us in the voice region. They have these vocal membranes tha make their voices hard to control ..they also lack the brain function to be able to micro manipulate their tongues and lips in a way that's required for complex speech.
There are some interesting studies out there about people with autism and their possible ability to be able to understand thoughts of others without having to be spoken. It's possible they are picking up on the slightest bits of movements that accompany certain thoughts or something like that. . ..that's just my guess.
Yeah we are of course still different than Chimps...otherwise we'd just be Chimps or they'd just be human i guess lol But i do find it really cool that we literally share a language with them at least in our younger days.
Would you be able to shoot me the name or publication of such studies on autistic people?
