How is it that conservatives most identify as Christians but also most ignore Christian values?

"Let each of you look not only to his own interests, but also to the interests of others. You must have the same attitude as Christ Jesus"

So says the bible. And yet it is overwhelmingly conservatives who get upset at the idea of social programs or things like universal healthcare or the idea of a universal basic income.

The math ain't mathin', guys.

Government has no place doing this. It's to the determination of each individual (meaning all, yes, so don't nitpick). Theft is not charity. They shouldn't be permitted to steal to "give".

In an ideal world (I know, I know), it should be The Church. There are very few churches who represent The Church though, at this time.

A certain percentage of income is supposed to be tithed. Again, in an ideal world, that given to The Church would be more than enough to suffice to take care of the elderly, sick, orphaned, and widowed.

But how can you apply that in the modern world except to personally give to people, but no, I don't believe that justifies it being stolen by a government body. One problem isn't the solution to another. Also, the government programs are destructive as they are life long and only encourage waste of a human life.

This is my answer to your question. You said how. This is one how.

No gotcha moments. If you truly wanted an answer, take it. If you wanted to play more troll games, just ignore.

So you're equating taxation with theft which seems reductive to me and yet you approve of tithing for use in the common good...but call taxation for social programs theft.

Jesus would definitely have been a socialist. If you really try to follow his teachings then you can immediately see who you should be voting for.

It certainly seems to me that Jesus would have been the first one to champion social programs and supporting all people.
I don't get how conservative Christians talk about Jesus and then call it evil to do as Christ did.

I don't object to these things.

But some politically conservative Christians would say the church needs to get their hands dirty and help rather than social programmes, etc.

Ultimately in a large building as an anology of importance- a Christian's political views are on the floor. Christ is up there on the ceiling!
