School was always a bit too repetitive and tediously slow progress for my mindfulness but made the best of it and knew that it was something worthy of my respect and appreciation.

Though finding only a very few of my instructors were aware of the differences in learning abilities or able to keep the classes interesting if not, entertaining.

I have extremely strong opinions about how best a universal K-12 education system might best be deployed in the information age.

A K thru 6th grade elementary from home internet classroom could reduce costs and other issues be solved since the physical presence of students ought only be needed for periodic testing and grade promotion.

A 6 thru 12 half day from home with half day in location hands on lab , domicillary , shop or other place of attendance where students can be taught on actual devices and equipment and learn social interaction and professional standards would also make more sense from the obvious implications. Aggregation of similar intellectual matches rather than age or social strata matching classrooms would seem much more logical than the current systems now in place.

Yes. Not so much the classroom stuff -- most of it was repetitive and stuff I already knew -- but the extracurricular stuff. But then I was bedridden for four years and when I returned to school I found I was a couple of years ahead of everyone and could pretty well coast academically. It was socialization skills I woefully lacked, and the extracurricular activity in both high school and college were my chance to catch up on those.

I fought a lot. But for the most part i loved it. My siblings, there were 5 of us and we had 9 cousins and we all lived under the same roof at one point, they moved in with us. So one of us were always in a fight. And if one of us fought lol we all fought

Nope. I think if I hadn't moved around so much I might have but I was never in the emotional space to focus on it. Also, by the time you've had to relearn something for the third time because the teacher won't accept any of the ways you know how to do it, ya just kind of check out.
If I had to do it all over again I'd've quit school the day I turned 16 then would've gone into the home construction biz... starting at the bottom, learning as much as I could about all the trades involved.
SunshineGirl · 36-40, F
I hated being sent away from home to boarding school, but loved the teachers, the lessons, and my friends.
virgin888 · 36-40, MVIP
@SunshineGirl u must of been the most popular girl in class
SunshineGirl · 36-40, F
@virgin888 Not very popular, but I just liked joining in with things.
darkmere1983 · 46-50, M
primary school, loved it, but secondary school hated it and couldn't adapt.
kodiac · 22-25, M
Oh hell no ,being a foster from elementary through high school i attended at least 13 different schools. Always being the new kid ,always being the foster kid i had a huge target on my back. Spent more time in detention than in class.
Intuitive · 46-50, F
The learning aspect when it was present. For the most part it was too loud and too structured for me .
exexec · 70-79, C
I enjoyed high school. College was awfully hard. They deliberately made it difficult for us engineering students. Grad school was a breeze, and I liked it okay.
Pfuzylogic · M
Kept going to school until I was 39.
virgin888 · 36-40, MVIP
@Pfuzylogic i had a terrible experience in school

@MarbleMarvel I had a terrible time at school
As much as a kid does. Nobody likes school work. The other side of it was mostly fun

High school was ok but I loved college.
HumanEarth · F
Up till highschool, then I just dropped out.

I was more for hands on learning not for book learning
hunkalove · 61-69, M
I hated every moment I ever spent in a classroom. And I'm a college grad.

I learned how loathsome people can be, kids being merely smaller versions of people. School affected my ability to listen to records and watch cartoons, therefore it was viewed as an obstacle.
virgin888 · 36-40, MVIP
No I hated it
No, I hated school... I enjoyed adult education much better.
Parts of it ..
SarahAndSamantha · 51-55, T
Up until the point I realized they were basically teaching the same thing over and over again. then I got bored
I had ADD and Dyslexic. My parents didn't tell me. No Excuses you know. School was hell for me. I didn't even understand how fucked up I was until much later.
Not one bit… I feel dumber having to attend
SteelHands · 61-69, M
@TheOneyouwerewarnedabout at least you're good at being succinctly accurate and explaining why.

I struggled with my answer. Haha!
Academically, yes.

But the social bs of K-12... lmao
swirlie · F
High school was a social event for me and university was a cultural way of life.
@swirlie Says far more about your fuzzy grasp on facts and lack of critical thinking capability

@BrandNewMan
...none of which you'd have any clue about because you don't actually know me, mister misogynist man!
