no we also like to talk about the rear end size of the latest reality TV ho
SashaUnderhill · 22-25, F
@pancakeslam see what @Torsten said....
pancakeslam · 41-45, M
@Torsten when I talk politics it makes a difference because I actually make good points
Torsten · 36-40, M
@pancakeslam according to you haha but everyone who talks about politics thinks they make good points. It still does not change anything in the slightest. So it really is not important in the slightest

CountScrofula · 41-45, M
Dude you complain about culture war bullshit more than you breathe.
CestManan · 46-50, F
@CountScrofula I wish I could shake your hand right now
Torsten · 36-40, M
@CountScrofula and how is that political?
CountScrofula · 41-45, M
@Torsten Politics is the behaviour of groups and apportation of power. The struggle to grant or revoke social rights for segments of society is political by any definition. Even electoral politics are driven by culture war concerns.
TexChik · F
You want some cheese with that whine ?
wildbill83 · 36-40, M
@TexChik since these Europeans are so sick of politics, lets start hijacking/spamming their posts by talking about guns...

After all, I'm sure that gun ownership is something all these marxist plebs can relate to... 🤣
wildbill83 · 36-40, M
@TexChik of when they start talking about public transportation or their puny little economy shitbox cars, lets start talking about and posting pictures of V8 classic cars & muscle cars, see if they can relate to that... 🤔
TexChik · F
@wildbill83 Sounds good. 😉
Lanie78 · 41-45, F
One can only assume that they always talk politics because of the ridiculous laws/politicians they have. Don't get me wrong the UK is in an appalling state to, but to always discuss politics is boring.

Those spouting about it on social media rarely actually do anything about it in RL. Yes Social media movements can help. However life is short. Those here discussing it appear to have very one tracked minds 😬
Torsten · 36-40, M
@Lanie78 on a very simplistic way, yeah sort of.
here is a link if you wanna know more.
I dont really talk about it much on here because i dont like feeling like i am forcing it on others or anything like that, but its here if you wanna read some and if not, thats cool.

Lanie78 · 41-45, F
@Torsten I had a look, actually quite interesting. Explains your mead making 😊
Torsten · 36-40, M
@Lanie78 that might be a coincidence haha.
I originally got a recipe from my grandfather who would make it and it became a hobby of mine making it and mixing it up and trying new things and well yeah
Penny · 46-50, F
honestly i think more people need to be interested in politics. America is supposed ot be ademocracy. if no one cared then the politicians could do whatever they wanted. i mean what should they be interested in ? cars and mindless television?
BlueVeins · 22-25
@pdockal We're a representative republic -- AKA a democracy.
Government by the people; that form of government in which the sovereign power resides in the people as a whole, and is exercised either directly by them (as in the small republics of antiquity) or by officers elected by them. In mod. use often more vaguely denoting a social state in which all have equal rights, without hereditary or arbitrary differences of rank or privilege.
pdockal · 56-60, M
@BlueVeins

Do i have to give you s civics lesson ?????

The Constitution establishes a federal democratic republic form of government

We vote for representstives who are suppose to du our bidding

In a democracy we would vote for everything which is impossible
BlueVeins · 22-25
@pdockal In a direct democracy, we'd vote on everything. We're a representative democracy.
NickiHijab · F
You're literally one of them
Torsten · 36-40, M
@NickiHijab not American nor do i discuss politics constantly
NickiHijab · F
@Torsten ok, fair enough you're not American. That part can't be disputed but the last statement? Really? You're always posting about identities and how they inform legislation or relational power. It's all politics.
Torsten · 36-40, M
@NickiHijab maybe you can say identity politics for sure. I am talking about actual politics though like Trump/Biden, Left/right nonsense.
To be fair it is mentioned a lot in my threads i make and i normally get sucked into it. But outside of others bringing it up to me, I dont think about American politics in the slightest.

No idea, lol I had some triggered person say that I was not American on a answer of mine when q had nothing to do with where someone comes from and did not even say if I was American or not..stalking it seems like lol

Anyways I dunno, maybe a lot do discuss it on here and in real life..getting involved in things they don't really know about.
Maybe a lot think the "government" helps them or that they need to be for so and so when the government does not give a shit about them

Maybe some are brainwashed and conditioned to only speak about that 🤷🏼‍♀️

Sure sometimes I myself go to a q in politics and speak my mind but that is usually on ur questions lol I go to lots of different questions and like that, even ask my own.

Sometimes online but I have a life that I do others things in real life: Job, read, listen to music, hang out with people, go out at weekend, maybe a holiday and more things.

But some people are obsessed about being online and obsessed about politics

I might be on a q more if I am being attacked and harassed by users like keeps happening in ur questions and some others 🤦‍♀️

And yep not an American here 😉🤫😂🤣

Torsten · 36-40, M
@Jackaloftheazuresand haha i will take your word for it
CestManan · 46-50, F
Trans is now a political thing and you bring up trans constantly.

Can you say, "When did I ever talk about trans?" cause I am betting ONE HUNDRED dollars you will say that. :D
Torsten · 36-40, M
@CestManan also you love to keep saying i always say "when did i say that?" but look at who i actually say that to and what they are claiming. When people twist what i say, damn right i will question it and call them out on that nonsense. I dont like people twisting my words. If people want to attack me for the things i actually say, have at it. But making shit up and attacking me over shit i didnt say, gets on my nerves
CestManan · 46-50, F
@Torsten when did I ever say that you're always saying, when did I ever say that?
Torsten · 36-40, M
@CestManan you always bring this shit up now. You always claim i deny saying everything a certain few people keep lying about. Its the same shit as you constantly coming to threads saying I am just saying shit for attention. Its getting old
beckyromero · 36-40, F
Maybe it's because some of us recognize that we have Quislings in our midsts who disdain everything we hold dear in our Constitution.

But I guess some people would rather march to the goose-step.
When your gov't is turning your country to 💩, you tend to take notice and talk about it. When you understand the world stakes involves, others should probably take notice too. Just sayin'.
kodiac · 22-25, M
Do most non Americans have nothing better to discuss rather than Americans?
This comment is hidden. Show Comment
Torsten · 36-40, M
@kodiac wrong. If you read what I wrote. this thread is about Americans who make every topic, no matter what it is, to be twisted into American Politics.
I am not referring to those who talk politics but instead those who cant stop talking about them

SumKindaMunster · 51-55, M
It's an American tradition to complain about the government and taxes. And to discuss the issues that vex us...

However, social media seems to have weaponized these disagreements and these days it is ugly and uncomfortable.

I read your post with a raised eyebrow, you yourself spend quite a bit of time arguing politics, what makes it so important to you?
Torsten · 36-40, M
@SumKindaMunster i would agree with that and i agree with what you said. Its annoying when outsiders try claiming they know what is best for the country they are not even in or more about that country compared to those in it.
if that is what this thread came off as, i assure you that was not my intention
SumKindaMunster · 51-55, M
@Torsten We're cool man. Just talking here. I thought it was an interesting question from you, and I understand why you asked it.
Torsten · 36-40, M
@SumKindaMunster good to hear.
I could have possibly worded this thread better but I just type whatever is in my head at the time and think about it much more after its already posted haha.
Where i am i have even ran into people that are not Americans but are absolutely obsessed with politics there. 2016 was a lot of people acting like they were actually in America. Kid you not, it was crazy.
I talk bout politics a bit, no doubt but those are the threads i make if you count identity politics. Most stuff i comment on is stuff outside of those topics because i cant just think of that stuff all the time but with this thread and some replies, it could really be just the stuff that is constantly put up in my main feed considering this site is all jacked up with a bad feed here.
So maybe i am just seeing a huge amount of it and it made me come to that conclusion, i dont know, hence why i ask haha
Spnk8 · 36-40, M
Yeah we see enough politics on every other social media app i come on here to have fun and to get away from reality and do things i normally wouldnt say or do cause i have fun on here with others! Dont wanna hear about our crap government and stupid politics
Torsten · 36-40, M
@Spnk8 haha thats fair
Zeusdelight · 61-69, M
I don't think most of the political discussion on this site is really about politics.

I think it is about people wanting to be right, no matter what, and not accepting any other possible views.

It is about demeaning anyone who disagrees with you and treating them badly.

In my mind, it is about parroting the politicians in the US, as if they were an example to follow.
BigGuy2 · 26-30, M
@Torsten ... i haven't, but i've always thought that if you go back far enough, i'm guessing that it'll be the Left that starts the ball rolling - {as i've experienced it happening so many times, that i see it as the 'norm' from the Left} i've done it once or twice, but it dawned on me i don't need to insult {i still do it anyway, mostly} as the nutjobs have Liberal Hiveminds, a bit like a robots
Torsten · 36-40, M
@BigGuy2 the radical right i mean. Seen it a bit. Certainly more common with the left for sure though. Like to a insane degree but some on the right are just as petty
@Zeusdelight nobody can focus on politics! It's never possible for the war - Americans - you hate and war. No debate there!
I like it for you!
Discussing could be interesting. But people just put themselves and others in little boxes. Then they start calling each other names . You're either on their political side or against them. There's actually no room for discussion.
Torsten · 36-40, M
@EarthlingWise exactly which makes every single thread, the exact same
SW-User
Yep. It's the only thing that gives them a false sense of power. But for the record there are some outside of America who are as well. They also think they are experts about America and don't even live here.
Torsten · 36-40, M
@SW-User yes there is some outside of America who do the same thing for sure but not anywhere on the scale that Americans do it.
same could be said with certain Americans being 'experts" of countries they dont live in. Its just dumb when anyone does that really
wildbill83 · 36-40, M
@Torsten we're experts when it comes to liberating countries that thought they could remain neutral during ww2, does that count? 😉
eMortal · M
It’s a very politicized nation. For some, politics is like a religion, the constitution is the holy book, founding fathers were prophets sent by the almighty. A bunch of ill informed emotional bigots.
Torsten · 36-40, M
@eMortal that is a good way to put it. It seems like a religion to people these days
Torsten · 36-40, M
@TheOneyouwerewarnedabout would rather discuss politics unless of course we are talking about my Queen, Former woman of the year Caitlyn Jenner
1. Yes they do live sad lives.

2. Politics here arent just talking points. It directly affects our daily lives, in real time.

3. Living in America is a sad experience. True personal freedom does not exist here.
Zonuss · 41-45, M
@bittybear It affects anyone who is in the tribes of Israel.
Racism that is.
Torsten · 36-40, M
@Zonuss haha for someone who claimed you didnt care about my thread, you are certainly making the rounds in it
Zonuss · 41-45, M
@Torsten Good.
MeowsoliniReturns · 51-55, F
I must say, as an American, I too am irritated by the constant need to interject political opinion into any and/or all conversation. It's over the top and those are the type of people I deliberately avoid.
Torsten · 36-40, M
@MeowsoliniReturns absolutely correct. Politicians dont care about any of us. They tell us what they think we want to hear for them to gain power and fill their own pockets while emptying ours.
People who praise them have been horribly fooled
MeowsoliniReturns · 51-55, F
@Torsten I completely agree.
LordShadowfire · 100+, M
@MeowsoliniReturns
I must say, as an American, I too am irritated by the constant need to interject political opinion into any and/or all conversation.
Hmph! Spoken like a true fascist! (Ducking and running.)
PhilDeep · 51-55, M
Hmm. I seem to recall reading somewhere that in the whole world lesbian porn is the most popular genre but in the US incest porn is. I find that a bit weirder but I see your point. I think what's also weird is that they have only two options and not really anything even remotely in-between. Which just sounds like a(nother) civil war waiting to happen given they're armed lol ;-)
Torsten · 36-40, M
@PhilDeep thats a odd but interesting fact haha
chasingThursday · 36-40, M
It’s annoying
Torsten · 36-40, M
@chasingThursday that it is
SubstantialKick · 31-35, M
Our political scene is such a clusterfuck with so much infighting that it's hard not to discuss it. Lol.
LordShadowfire · 100+, M
@SubstantialKick I mean, when common sense stuff like trying to fight climate change or a deadly pandemic can become politicized, I'd call it impossible.
SW-User
I'd rather that than all the boring and irrelevant personal posts...sigh
Torsten · 36-40, M
@SW-User just more variety would be good i think
JohnOinger · 41-45, M
sorry dude i disagree but talking about a persons race gender is politics
familyfunguy · 56-60, M
As an American, I'm dedicating my time to fighting against my opposition, who has made their politics their whole personality.

The irony and the lack of self awareness that my opposition has is staggering, and I will stop at nothing to continue the fight. It's so important that I'll let it occupy my free time, I'll talk about it on the whim, and so on.
Bill O'Reilly said it best. Americans are either right or left and will never change their minds. The rest are in the middle but most of them are stone cold stupid or don't care and THEY are the ones who decide elections. 😂
specman · 51-55, M
I have other stuff going on but not as much as usual. Currently on worker's comp. recovering from a surgery on my arm. So i get on here to pass the time.

@specman thats cool. If it passes the time for you, thats good.
Hope your recovery goes well and fast

@Torsten Thanks

And you base your conclusions on what a admixture study?
Torsten · 36-40, M
@Northwest look around mate. It aint hard to see for yourself. Its everywhere on this site
Northwest · M
@Torsten weirdly enough, you have yet to figure out, that you’re posting to the Politics section. What do you suppose they discuss in the Politics section? Mate.
Torsten · 36-40, M
@Northwest i added this under politics because its about politics. I dont search politics though to see countless political threads though. Its all in the main feed
Teirdalin · 31-35
Politics are literally the only thing we talk about here in America Land.
Torsten · 36-40, M
@Teirdalin certainly seems that way. Dont you all get bored with it?
Teirdalin · 31-35
@Torsten This is the elemental plane of politics, so of course not.
I can talk about that one guy who does stuff and about how dumb that other group who likes those arbitrary things are all day.
Torsten · 36-40, M
@Teirdalin very odd
Just keep in mind, most Americans don't spend a lot of time on SW. Anonymous social media is not typical.
Torsten · 36-40, M
@MistyCee its all over Twitter and everywhere you can be social online. It aint just here
I agree. Due to the war and the environment crisis Murkan people should shut up and unify behind NATO.
Nuf said.
The ones and the people I know. They dont know anything else but. Even their job - the got a motor mouth
uncalled4 · 56-60, M
A fine observation. And yes, it scares me to death that some people live and die on politics...how on earth can that be THE most compelling thing? I'll never understand it, at least not for anyone older than, say 30.
LordShadowfire · 100+, M
@CestManan Good. Give 'em someplace to go.
CestManan · 46-50, F
@LordShadowfire We gotta give that guy some credit though, he gets raked over the coals on almost ever post but does not give up. 😄
Torsten · 36-40, M
@LordShadowfire
So start your own country. I'm certainly interested to see how you do.
sounds great. I would already have a leg up over America due to having someone running the place who is not senile.
turnedtostone · 56-60, F
Yes every last one of us, no exceptions 😡
SW-User
You can’t blame them that’s the propaganda that they are fed on their hate-boxes
Torsten · 36-40, M
@SW-User for a lot, no doubt
Carissimi · F
I’m a sad case to be sure.
LordShadowfire · 100+, M
That's rich, coming from you. All you do all day is sit here arguing gender politics, or race politics.
Torsten · 36-40, M
@LordShadowfire you cant be this fragile. Seriously none of what i just said was hate speech. either you have no clue what hate speech actually is or you are just fragile as fuck and think anything negative towards some people is counted as hate speech
LordShadowfire · 100+, M
@Torsten I love it that you just have to keep responding, even though you think it's nonsense. It's like you're afraid that if you don't negate it, you are admitting to it.

@Zonuss really? because here you are talking about the boring mundane topic i dribbled about 🤷‍♂️
REMsleep · 41-45, F
Its cultural. Indians love politics too as well as certain middle Eastern countries and certain African nations.
It becomes as a sport just like football.
FeetAreFantastic · 41-45, M
I don't see this at all honestly. The vast majority of posts are not about politics.
But then, we all see different posts so it might be different for you.
CestManan · 46-50, F
@FeetAreFantastic One way maybe around the algorithm is make an alt acct to see what you can see. Kind of a pain though flip flopping
FeetAreFantastic · 41-45, M
@CestManan Hey, I hadn't even thought of that yet! They did supposedly make swiching pretty easy, but I never had any alts so far so I don't know.
CestManan · 46-50, F
@FeetAreFantastic If you do make an alt, maybe avoid posting so that nothing gets algorithm'ed and no one blocks (except those who block entire demographs)
BigGuy2 · 26-30, M
I think the reason is because people are finally waking up to all this Woke nonsense, hence the increase in traffic on social media sites, if you did a quick survey or look, you'll find before all this Woke nonsense, social media traffic would have been a lot more balanced
Torsten · 36-40, M
@BigGuy2 I have noticed a well welcome turn with that nonsense. Glad to see more people taking a stand against it
