Do most Americans have nothing better to discuss rather than politics?

most of you seem utterly obsessed on this site.
Just to make this clear, this thread is not a excuse for you to ramble on about your political opinions. I dont care.
I am just asking if you have nothing else going on in your lives that take higher priority? for those that only ever talk about politics, I imagine you guys live very sad lives.
There is only very few of you on here that i have noticed are not like that but for example you dont seen anyone outside of America, be as obsessed with politics. Its just weird

honestly i think more people need to be interested in politics. America is supposed ot be ademocracy. if no one cared then the politicians could do whatever they wanted. i mean what should they be interested in ? cars and mindless television?
Torsten · 36-40, M
@Penny the politicians do whatever they want as it is and the media help them

@Penny

We're a republic not a democracy
We've gone upside down with politics and fighting

@Penny god this is so based

@pdockal We're a representative republic -- AKA a democracy.

Government by the people; that form of government in which the sovereign power resides in the people as a whole, and is exercised either directly by them (as in the small republics of antiquity) or by officers elected by them. In mod. use often more vaguely denoting a social state in which all have equal rights, without hereditary or arbitrary differences of rank or privilege.

@BlueVeins

Do i have to give you s civics lesson ?????

The Constitution establishes a federal democratic republic form of government

We vote for representstives who are suppose to du our bidding

In a democracy we would vote for everything which is impossible
BlueVeins · 22-25
@pdockal In a direct democracy, we'd vote on everything. We're a representative democracy.
