Do most Americans have nothing better to discuss rather than politics?

most of you seem utterly obsessed on this site.
Just to make this clear, this thread is not a excuse for you to ramble on about your political opinions. I dont care.
I am just asking if you have nothing else going on in your lives that take higher priority? for those that only ever talk about politics, I imagine you guys live very sad lives.
There is only very few of you on here that i have noticed are not like that but for example you dont seen anyone outside of America, be as obsessed with politics. Its just weird

A fine observation. And yes, it scares me to death that some people live and die on politics...how on earth can that be THE most compelling thing? I'll never understand it, at least not for anyone older than, say 30.

@uncalled4 I find it's more and more compelling as I get older, because I realize just how much influence people in government have over my everyday life. Right now, the Supreme Court could reverse every decision they've made in this country that grants anybody any kind of rights, and nobody could stop them. Doesn't that scare you a little?
uncalled4 · 56-60, M
@LordShadowfire Everything the government does scares me.
Torsten · 36-40, M
@uncalled4 exactly. I get being interested in it and discussing it every so often but what i am referring is those obsessed with it. I had a woman on here tell me not long back that they are in a political war and those who discuss it are soldiers in it.
Probably one of the dumbest things i have heard.
fact is no matter who anyone votes for, we lose. The government and politicians do not care about any of us. They will tell us what they think we want to hear but they are only interested in filling their own pockets and emptying ours yet people basically worship them these days. Its crazy
uncalled4 · 56-60, M
@Torsten It's fanboyism mixed with a dose of narcissism---like "MY political hero is unassailable, as I voted for them!!". It's neither true nor supportable. What is scary is not how many ignorant people drink the Koolaid--it's people whom I consider intelligent otherwise. The lockstepping and all that--it gives me the piss shivers.

@uncalled4 haha "the piss shivers" i like it but yeah i get what you're saying. its just so weird

@Torsten So start your own country. I'm certainly interested to see how you do.

@LordShadowfire Dude that place would have more skinheads than The Bosley Institute.
LordShadowfire · 46-50, M
@Punches Good. Give 'em someplace to go.

@LordShadowfire We gotta give that guy some credit though, he gets raked over the coals on almost ever post but does not give up. 😄

sounds great. I would already have a leg up over America due to having someone running the place who is not senile.
