Do most Americans have nothing better to discuss rather than politics?

most of you seem utterly obsessed on this site.
Just to make this clear, this thread is not a excuse for you to ramble on about your political opinions. I dont care.
I am just asking if you have nothing else going on in your lives that take higher priority? for those that only ever talk about politics, I imagine you guys live very sad lives.
There is only very few of you on here that i have noticed are not like that but for example you dont seen anyone outside of America, be as obsessed with politics. Its just weird

It's an American tradition to complain about the government and taxes. And to discuss the issues that vex us...

However, social media seems to have weaponized these disagreements and these days it is ugly and uncomfortable.

I read your post with a raised eyebrow, you yourself spend quite a bit of time arguing politics, what makes it so important to you?

@SumKindaMunster don't even ask, he'll just come back with, when did I ever say that it was important? That's his default answer to everything
Torsten · 36-40, M
@SumKindaMunster not disagreeing with that at all or saying people should never talk politics. I am speaking to those obsessed by it and will talk of nothing else.
Here is a question for you, is there another country that you hear of more of their politics than what you hear of your own?
because that is what it is like where i am with America
Torsten · 36-40, M
@Punches you're like a broken record. Give it a rest
Punches · 46-50, F
@Torsten okay whatever but also just know that yes on forums Americans do talk but in real life not as much because it's just one of those subjects that causes problems anyway. So yeah in real life it's not as bad as on forums

@Torsten

No. The UK, France and Israel sometimes have their politics argued here, but nowhere near American politics.

We dominate everything, including pop culture and arguing politics is part of American pop culture.

That's why I believe there are non Americans on here all the time arguing politics.

Perhaps you've seen, but I have a real issue with isolated Western Europeans who know nothing of America, save what they chose to confirm through their social media and news preferences, spending their time telling Americans what their problems are and how to fix them.

In other words, its not just Americans who spend a ridiculous amount of time arguing American politics.

My final point would be that there are also a lot of people on here who talk about sex and cheating, or religion. It's rampant, but I find I don't pay attention to that stuff and it rapidly leaves my feed. You may find the same experience with American politics, should you chose to do so.

@SumKindaMunster im not telling anyone or country what to do. I just am asking questions. I am no expert on America and I dont act to be one.
Fact is though when America is discussed its always political now and nothing else and What i mostly see online everywhere are people going on and on about it so asking if Americans have nothing better to do than discuss politics i think is not a unreasonable question. I never claimed all Americans have nothing better to do than talk politics, I asked the question instead.

I repeat I am not talking about those who discuss it here and there, I am referring to those who make everything to be about American politics. like a example would be a thread about dogs and people come in and make it about Trump and crimes he committed.
yes that has not happened exactly but I have seen it so many times with a lot of people on here and other sites, everything to those people is political and that made me think what other country is like that? and I cant think of any

I'm aware, and I believe I am answering your question in a sincere and relevant manner.
Torsten · 36-40, M
@SumKindaMunster i would agree with that and i agree with what you said. Its annoying when outsiders try claiming they know what is best for the country they are not even in or more about that country compared to those in it.
if that is what this thread came off as, i assure you that was not my intention
SumKindaMunster · 51-55, M
@Torsten We're cool man. Just talking here. I thought it was an interesting question from you, and I understand why you asked it.
Torsten · 36-40, M
@SumKindaMunster good to hear.
I could have possibly worded this thread better but I just type whatever is in my head at the time and think about it much more after its already posted haha.
Where i am i have even ran into people that are not Americans but are absolutely obsessed with politics there. 2016 was a lot of people acting like they were actually in America. Kid you not, it was crazy.
I talk bout politics a bit, no doubt but those are the threads i make if you count identity politics. Most stuff i comment on is stuff outside of those topics because i cant just think of that stuff all the time but with this thread and some replies, it could really be just the stuff that is constantly put up in my main feed considering this site is all jacked up with a bad feed here.
So maybe i am just seeing a huge amount of it and it made me come to that conclusion, i dont know, hence why i ask haha
