@swirlie Yeah it was pretty funny. Of course it was funny when we were pulling into Surrey the snow started to fall and suddenly there was a traffic jam at the bottom of a small hill. No one there had snow tires on their car and they couldn't climb the hill. I'm from Alberta so I had snow tires on my 4 X 4 pickup. I wonder how long they waited for the snow to melt before they got to the top of the hill. I didn't hang around to find out.
@hippyjoe1955 Oh, that is just way too funny! I remember a while back when Victoria got hit with a storm and the city came to a standstill with 4 inches of snow that had fallen! They had no snow plows, so road graders were ferried from the mainland over to Victoria to grade the snow off the main roadways! I wonder how that worked out!
@Musicman I have heard it many times while growing up, but has been decades since I heard it last, it's about our true worth and value, even when others think we're not worthy. Just recently a Strad violin sold for just under $12million...
@NativePortlander1970 That is so cool. My violin has the Stratovarious markings, but I have been told by non professionals that there is absolutely no way it can be real. So who knows 🤷♂
@Musicman A lot of violin makers liked to imitate the markings, my late ex fiancee's younger son played and had a unique sound, his violin was last appraised to be worth $17,000 and has Strad markings as well. The interesting thing is that there are numerous violins the Stradivarius factory made, in the hundreds, but the valuable ones are the instruments he personally crafted.
@Steph34 just the iphone x my hub has the 16 pro max because he thinks he has to have every newest phone ever 🙄 but i don't like paying top dollar for a new phone 😤🙄😏 i wish i could eliminate some of the stalker-ware and ai off of it but i'm not techie enough 😬
My girlfriend got me throwing axes for Christmas, even though we live in an apartment. She's not very bright, but it's a cool thing not many people own
A 1966 Volkswagen microbus, fully restored and in mint condition. I bought it at an auction and presented it to my father to restore for me because he likes doing that kind of thing... but only when he picks out the car to restore himself, that is! But he did it anyway and I paid him handsomely for his expertise!
