My snow blower. It is sitting outside in -35 temperature. it is pretty cool. It won't be quite as cool in a few months though.

So, you've moved to Alberta, eh? When did that happen?

@swirlie I was born and raised in Alberta. My father was an American and as such he registered me as an American citizen which I had to confirm when I turned 18. I did and I remain a dual citizen.

The last time we spoke you were living in the interior of BC. Before that, you were living in 'The Soo' ..or Sudbury(?) When did you move back to Alberta?

@swirlie I was working there. I was not living there. I work all over Western Canada. Anything west of the Ontario Manitoba border. I am heading out to the west coast in a few weeks. I will be there for a week. Maybe I will talk to you from there.

I was in the Port of Vancouver for week just after the dockworker's strike ended where I met up with @SandWitch (from SW) who flew-in from Sweden via Toronto. It wasn't raining and there wasn't any smoke in the air either, so our timing couldn't have been better! Give me a shout when you get back out there.

@swirlie Will do so. I am bidding on a job in the Vancouver area. The one in a few weeks is up by Prince Rupert.

Prince Rupert is an interesting place! I flew in there in 2023 from Vancouver in the middle of July and the temp was 13*C at the airport in YPR!
It was a very sunny day and the guy I met up with at the cruise ship dock facility told me it was my lucky day because Rupert has the least amount of sunny days and the most amount of rainy days in all of Canada, so he wanted me to come with him when he bought a lottery ticket! 😆

@swirlie they call it the wet coast for a reason.

You know, I showed up without an umbrella or raincoat and didn't need one the whole time I was there! 😂 My work associate won $20 from that ticket though!

@swirlie Good for him! I was working outdoors in Surrey on day in February. It rained and snowed the entire week I was there. I wore rain gear. One of my workers didn't bring any. He got very cold and wet.

@swirlie Yeah it was pretty funny. Of course it was funny when we were pulling into Surrey the snow started to fall and suddenly there was a traffic jam at the bottom of a small hill. No one there had snow tires on their car and they couldn't climb the hill. I'm from Alberta so I had snow tires on my 4 X 4 pickup. I wonder how long they waited for the snow to melt before they got to the top of the hill. I didn't hang around to find out.

Oh, that is just way too funny! I remember a while back when Victoria got hit with a storm and the city came to a standstill with 4 inches of snow that had fallen! They had no snow plows, so road graders were ferried from the mainland over to Victoria to grade the snow off the main roadways! I wonder how that worked out!
