Why can't we ever have a female president when other states have female governors, female mayors, and female senators?

Dolimyte · 41-45, M
The simple answer, misogyny.
Ducky · 31-35, F
@Dolimyte I'll give you that. I misread it as being addressed to me.
Dolimyte · 41-45, M
@Ducky Ah, that explains the shift in tone. No worries. I hope you enjoy the rest of your day.😊
@Dolimyte This is why

Sounds familiar 🤔[media=https://youtu.be/GLG9g7BcjKs]
Askeladd · 31-35, M
Because being a woman alone isn’t a reason to vote for someone. Both of the women that had the chance at presidency were terrible options.
nudistsueaz · 61-69, F
@Askeladd Exactly right!!!
Magenta · F
@Askeladd Precisely!

ETA: Before putting words in my mouth, read the words (evidence) of what I said "precisely" to: "Because being a woman alone isn’t a reason to vote for someone. Both of the women that had the chance at presidency were terrible options".

When one of the parties nominates a competent and capable woman then we will.
nudistsueaz · 61-69, F
@KateATX Absolutely correct
I don't vote based on a person having a vagina or not

🤣🤣🤣

She was completely unqualified to be the leader of the free world.
nudistsueaz · 61-69, F
I'm ready for a female president, we just need to find one that's qualified. I know there some out there.
nudistsueaz · 61-69, F
@Heartlander I agree but she it just to smart to return to DC
Baremine · 70-79, C
@nudistsueaz governor of South Dakota is another.
nudistsueaz · 61-69, F
@Baremine I agree
Alyosha · 31-35, M
The left keeps fielding weak candidates.
missyann · 56-60
I believe one of Harris and Clintons big mistakes. Were they solely concentrated on women’s rights and not rights of all people

I personally am not ready for a a democrat, or a republican female president

I am all for a woman as president but not Kamala
wildbill83 · 41-45, M
Since democrats have such a loose definition of woman; maybe Trump can "identify" as a woman and then ya'll can be happy eh?

or... when you complain about it, we can call ya'll a bunch of misogynists... 🤔
Heartlander · 80-89, M
Democrat women who make it to the top of their political party get there on the shirt tails of rich and/or powerful men. They try to rule under the authority bestowed on them by rich/powerful men rather than their own demonstrated leadership.

Look at the enthusiasm for Michelle Obama. Besides being married to Barrack, what’s her political history? Would anyone know who Hillary was had she not married Bill? Look at Nancy Pelosi connections.
nudistsueaz · 61-69, F
@Heartlander You are right, none of them were qualified
Ducky · 31-35, F
Obviously, it’s not a matter of being a woman when we do have female leaders in power. Maybe the majority of the country just doesn’t want a specific woman to be president.
Moneyonmymind · 31-35, M
@JimboSaturn this 💯
@Ducky It's indicative, and many intentionally miswrote her name, just as most ads for DJT mispronounced her name.
JimboSaturn · 51-55, M
@Ducky True but I think it is a measure of the temperature.
JimboSaturn · 51-55, M
Obviously the States is still very patriarchal.
Gangstress · 41-45, F
Because old white men and women
Morvoren · F
We’ve had two good female prime ministers and one really bad one.
MartinII · 70-79, M
@Morvoren I'd be interested to know which two you think were good.
Morvoren · F
@MartinII I’ll pass thanks. Friends aren’t made by discussing politics.
MartinII · 70-79, M
@Morvoren I don't think friendship has anything to do with it. I'm just interested in your opinion - and anyone else's for that matter!
GerOttman · 61-69, M
Well you can, all you need is a good candidate and a good party platform. Both were sorely lacking in this case.
Nitedoc · 51-55, M
@GerOttman Well said!
MsSwan ·
It will happen sooner or later
nudistsueaz · 61-69, F
@MsSwan The real issue is, the really brilliant one's are to smart to want the job.
ViciDraco · 36-40, M
@nudistsueaz I'd say that for the men too, honestly. We haven't really been getting cream of the crop for male candidates either.
nudistsueaz · 61-69, F
@ViciDraco Maybe but I can't speak for them.
Starcrossed · 41-45, F
We're still pretty entrenched in the patriarchy.
Baremine · 70-79, C
@Starcrossed that has nothing to do with it.
Yasmine19L · 22-25, F
Give it time I'm sure it will happen
@Yasmine19L To be very honest, I think Trump should have picked Tulsi Gabbard to be his veep over Vance, whichever side does run a woman should pick one with far more integrity than either Hillary and Kamala had.
Sidewinder · 36-40, M
Canada had a Female Prime Minister, (Kim Campbell) England had a Female Prime Minister, (Margaret Thatcher) The Philippines had a Female President, (Corazon "Cory" Aquino)

If only the United States could have a Female President, then I could die a happy man.

Alas, it is not in the cards. :( :( :(
MartinII · 70-79, M
@Sidewinder The United Kingdom also had two other female Prime Ministers, neither a very good precedent.
Sidewinder · 36-40, M
@MartinII I was aware only of the one.
MartinII · 70-79, M
@Sidewinder Three in total, though one lasted only 44 days
Miram · 31-35, F
The answer is actually pretty simple, but most of voters will not like it 🙃 Because it is about who they are as people.

There are enough corrupted voters who would vote for corrupt males over a corrupt female, because they are male.

There aren't enough corrupted voters who would vote for a corrupt female, over gender.

Ultimately it is because most women don't crave power as much as men do, so they don't have blind allegiances as much as men do.

Men in the US are by large more corrupt and would support politicians without hesitation, without empathy, without examining the collateral damage, as long as they believe it will serve them. Women crave safety and are more hesitant to put faith in an unpredictable hypocrite.

Make of that what you will.
No one said you can't.
tulsi after JD vance.. only 8 short years away
wildbill83 · 41-45, M
@TheOneyouwerewarnedabout Tulsi or Kari Lake, cause either would irritate the hell outta the libs
missyann · 56-60
@wildbill83 I didn’t think about it, but Tulsi Gabbard would make a great female president
@wildbill83 did Kari win her seat yet?
I think they playing g games there..?
Anniedlr · 26-30, F
And numerous other countries have had female Presidents/ Prime Minister since the 1960’s
HobNoblin · 36-40, M
What is a woman?
Baremine · 70-79, C
@HobNoblin democrats sure don't know.
HobNoblin · 36-40, M
@carpediem Odd how they want one for president. Odd how they talk about patriarchy and can't tell you what a man is either. Who are these oppressed people? What are they? Who and what are these oppressors?

Because you won't elect anyone at all. You prefer the privatized parties put on an expensive show making you irrelevant. You take genocide and put up a parking lot and bomb Russia - and you don't really vote.
MarkPaul · 26-30, M
@Roundandroundwego Oh, please stop pining away for Jill Stein. Just admit you have "a thing" for her already.
@MarkPaul I doubt an individual matters much. Nobody thinks Americans lack the deadly aim or the Will to prevent all resistance. Dead man walking! Here's comes Dead world! You won.
MarkPaul · 26-30, M
@Roundandroundwego Yeah, but I'm just trying to help.
MartinII · 70-79, M
Partly at least because neither party has yet fielded a good enough female candidate. But you have come close. If Biden had resigned rather than declined to stand for re-election you would have had Harris for a few months.
Ynotisay · M
@MartinII Hilary Clinton was, EASILY, one of the most electable people to ever run based on experience, relationships and success. No doubt.
MartinII · 70-79, M
@Ynotisay But she wasn't a good enough candidate. Just ask the "deplorables".
Cierzo · M
Tulsi Gabbard 2028
lifesatrip · F
@Cierzo Tulsi would be a great candidate ❤🇺🇸
MaryDreamilton · 46-50, F
I don't see any reason why not.
Juvia · 18-21, F
Ngl I would like to see one in my lifetime just cause why not
Just there's not a lot of options for candidates in general
So some people won't even vote for the one candidate we had because she didn't stand for what they wanted.
Dumbman · 36-40
They should make beautiful women run for presidential candidate then.
Dumbman · 36-40
@MaryDreamilton then they will get popular votes.
MaryDreamilton · 46-50, F
@Dumbman They should not be voted because of their looks, they should be voted because of their leadership abilities.
missyann · 56-60
@Dumbman Tulsi Gabbard is definitely a beautiful one
Keeper · M
You can, just get more people to vote for her. It's fairly simple.
Sidewinder · 36-40, M
Or better still, why not have...

MarkPaul · 26-30, M
Too much of a leap.
Moneyonmymind · 31-35, M
Simple. Not enough of America wants a female president deal with it 🤷🏾‍♂😂
Because Killary has a very nasty history and badly insulted half of the country, and kackler had no real platform, was weak during her veep years, and insulted over half the country.
