Oh, the air you breathe (mostly CO2) will "feed" that plant. But that plant won't convert it all into breathable oxygen anytime soon, certainly not before you suffocate.

China took over the manufacture lead, since no US company did, and the US is in more denial. VChina has been cutting down on its use of fossil fuels faster than we, but they have so many more people, and land, that it isn;t as obvious!

The U S demands that US businesses pay higher and higher tax rates, but then gives China favorite trading partner status, even though China businesses pay far less in taxes?

US energy policies are like human resources policies and tax policies, more like the aim is to economically benefit China.

The question isn't if but why?

@Onestarlitnight and the current average atmospheric content of co2 is about 0.04% (400ppm). Ideally, plants need around 1000-1200ppm to thrive. On the other hand, at around 150-200ppm, photosynthesis ceases and everything would die...

@wildbill83 What you are leaving out is that many of these forests are releasing more greenhouse gases than they absorb. For instance, the Amazon Rain Forest now (due to deforestation caused by humans) emits more greenhouse gases than they absorb. For the last many years it ceased being a carbon sink and has become a source.
