Good question. Something I came to realize during counseling related to marriage counseling .. they've ~ all been at some degree women w avoidant attachment styles. I'm a higher engagement person and end up carrying more of the work of the relationships. That leads to getting less satisfaction back out of them.

Trying to keep that in mind as I move toward being single again and even in my friendships. Hoping to find stronger, more balanced connections .. which may require me to dial it back some. NGL .. its not easy.

Lying and Cheating!!!!! They all cheated on me and I have always stayed loyal. I had given up on relationships, then I met the one I am with now. Nearly 3 decades together and still happy

I don't have any. My wife says all of hers were good guys who remained as friends.

Both mine have been 7 yrs younger. I've never been in a relationship with someone the same age or deviating by just one or two years either side.

We weren't who we thought we were, or rather I wasn't who I thought I was. I look at past relationships and think "How stupid was I" and learn from it. Sometimes we're still friends and laugh about it. Othertimes, she's just gone. Guess that's life...
