If you were given a choice to have a 'connected car' (EV or not) would you defeat the internet connectivity hardware to 'disconnect' it?

I would. Most modern 'connected' cars allegedly are still using a physical SIM in the radio hardware to enable the IoT connectivity to manafacture, etc. ecosytems. The trick is to find where that is.

Gives me a way to link to my adult kids and see what they are doing for xmas as I do not have my 8 y/o daughter for xmas eve or day this year (it's my ex's turn to have her for those days). I dunno if it's an Android feature or a network feature.

Once upon a time I had long hair - my first ex shaved it off in 2008 and I've never gone back to long-haired hippyness 8-)

My hair was also not at all grey then, whereas it now it is almost all grey on my head and face. Amazing how much one changes in 17 years.
