I do. How do you explain the fact that children knows things about deceased people's lives that they should know absolutely nothing about. One child kept referring to a stranger as his wife so they entertained him by showing him a photo and he named everyone in the picture. There are countless people who recall their past lives. How do you explain that.
AngelUnforgiven · 51-55, F
@zonavar68 thank you for that, thats a very interesting take on things 💓
Ferise1 · 46-50, M
@AngelUnforgiven countless? Or just one or two?
Ferise1 · 46-50, M
@zonavar68 this generation is mature because they’re the Pluto in Capricorn generation

I dont know. There have been some very interesting cases of people who remember 'past lives' and know things they couldn't possibly have known. My mother had a book on it. I remember vaguely a story in it was the case of a person who remembered growing up in poverty in a little English town, in a particular stone dwelling.
They were taken to that town, and all that was there was a massive vine growing.
The locals knew of no house ever being there.
But they investigated, and cut into the massive ivy and they found this tiny stone hut. Laid out just as the claimant said: a small step, a tiny fireplace, etc.
It amazed the locals.

So who knows
Ferise1 · 46-50, M
@NOS4R2 yes so maybe 0.001% of the population reincarnates
NOS4R2 · 41-45
@Ferise1 maybe. Maybe there are special cases, or maybe some souls get a choice to come back, i dont know. Its like near death experiences, theres some freakishly well documented cases of people dying, and knowing stuff they couldn't possibly know.
gregloa · 61-69, M
Of course not. I believe in you will be repaid for your actions. But I believe it’s from God. Some people call it karma.
Greyjedi · M
It makes sense. I can’t say for certainly I have, but it makes a lot of sense and thus I believe in it.
Magenta · F
No.
ETA: I do believe however that our soul lives on and must give account in the judgement day.
Nitedoc · 51-55, M
No. I do believe a part of us never dies along with our physical body, but continues on in some form and awareness.
Captain · 61-69, M
I've got this vague memory from a past life that says it cant exist ?
Oneofthestormboys · 56-60, M
Not in the sense of coming back as another person or animal, no.
We are made of stardust though, so it’s feasible that the atoms making our bodies could get redistributed somewhere else with time…
Tumbleweed · F
@Oneofthestormboys You put my thoughts into words!! I was trying to figure out how to say this but couldn't make it sound right so thank you!
@Oneofthestormboys that's probably what does happen and can be proven to happen. It's likely that we have at least one atom in our bodies for every person that ever lived until several millennia ago. But that's not reincarnation
Oneofthestormboys · 56-60, M
@ImperialAerosolKidFromEP I think you’re right. It’s the only thing I could think of that makes scientific sense on the subject of reincarnation. There’s something called entropy, which means that things become less ordered over time, so in all likelihood we’ll be scattered everywhere…

Absolutely.
No reason to. If I was more heavily influenced by the cyclicality of life, I might be tempted but the. I'd be conflating the natural with the supernatural

No - not at all - dead is dead.
I did during my last two lives, but not anymore.

One life and then the judgement.
only need one go around for that.
AnnaBunny · 18-21, F
No. It's a magic-based concept entirely lacking in reliable evidence and argument. The natural equivalent in reinvention theory corrects all of its mistakes and shortcomings.
I'd like to, but there's zero evidence for it.

Out of control stressed lives? Why on Earth should that be?

Hundreds of years ago, maybe one in three children did not survive to adulthood, maybe 1 or 2% of women died during childbirth, with no antibiotics, you were lucky to survive a serious infection, or to survive an epidemic of cholera, typhoid, or bubonic plague, for example.

Regarding the bubonic plague, I find it hard to believe that people weren't more stressed about that (when maybe 1/3 of the population died) than they are today.
Captain · 61-69, M
@Thinkerbell Yes but I think you have to read his book to understand his viewpoint. Expectations were differnet and day to day life was simpler and there was more "downtime". Its an interesting read. Also, harsh to say, but dead people arent stressed and if yhour job is get food sleep get food sleep, your sufficeintly busy to not worry about what happened last week. I think that's the main thrust of it.
Thinkerbell · 41-45, F
@Captain

Yes, I will have to read his book.

I have the feeling that in earlier times, people had to work so hard that they didn't have time to get stressed the way people do today.
