What the hell
Ynotisay · M
@scooogy Good one.
@scooogy I see what you did there! 😂
riseofthemachine · 41-45, M
If your a Satanist ? Please don't get offended . Does that mean u hate yourself so much and that God won't forgive u so u choose the easier side of life that u get rewards from the outer world instead of having God inside u ,
No ones perfect but i aim for it and also i won't get there until im 6 feet under .
See the lower power is inside everyone .
Do u know what that is ? Listening to voices inside your head and going ahead and believing them and then doing the actions that are inside your head .
That to me is Satanism.
Then theres the other side which is a beautiful way of life but as what i said u never get it perfect .
Im not telling u who to believe but if i had your belief id be demented and full of fear for the rest of my life
I don't know your situation that made u believe in that .
Was either getting hurt bad that turned u against God or was u done something bad that u think u won't be forgiven .
But choosen that way of life u be driven by a 100 forms of fear that way .
I supposes the 100 forms of form numbs u so u feel nothing and your constantly trying to numb yourself .
Or else you could numb yourself after being hurt so bad u don't want to know nothing about the pain so u get mixed up thinking your bad or evil .
We"ll i just throw a bit of ideas at u .
I was in hell with my mind and i tell u something after coming out of that hell there's no way i want to go back there .
I refuses to .
@riseofthemachine I do not live in fear at all. The most fearful people are christians and they are scared of hell and eternal punishment which is something I do not fear nor even believe in.

I don't hate myself it is the opposite I practice self care and love my fellow human beings. "Sin" is a meaningless concept created to control you.
riseofthemachine · 41-45, M
@PrincessOfHell I can’t say nothing to you cause I agree 100% .
ABCDEF7 · M
If you are agnostic, you should not believe in anything without proof. Be it God or Satan, be it Heaven or Hell. Then how you can be satanist ?
ABCDEF7 · M
@PrincessOfHell Does being satanist has relation to being spiritual?

if you like to be spiritual, you could have called yourself as "Spiritual agnostic".
@ABCDEF7 yes seems like you have an issue with satanism
ABCDEF7 · M
@PrincessOfHell I have nothing to do with satanism. It's a new term for me. There is no such thing as Satan in my culture, I am not Christian either. I just want to understand. And you offered "Ask me anything".

Does that mean, the religious and satanist both are spiritual, and both are believers, one in positive sense, other in negative sense? And you follow the later path?
Aren’t you aware of what is written in Genesis?
God formed Adam from the earth and then breathed the breath of life into him and Adam would become a living soul.
Fearing God doesn’t involve trembling except of course you become aware of how wicked unrepentant sin is!
@PrincessOfHell
I just said that Jesus is God!
There was no stutter.
@Aliveshock Didn't know you were in a place of authority to make that call. Are you theleologian by any chance? Priest?

I don't care either way
@PrincessOfHell
Anyone that knows Jesus would be an authority. I know it is a struggle without any real knowledge of God.
It is a new thing for you.
Graylight · 51-55, F
@PrincessOfHell Hmm. Interesting. One more question if I may. Given those aesthetics and the freedom from the hierarchy of a church, why Satan? Couldn't the same spirituality path exist free of any diety; a path like Buddhism, for example? I guess I'm asking what it was about your practice that called you to it specifically.

And thanks for the discussion. Learning is everything and no one ever wants to have a serious discussion about this.
@Graylight Perhaps but the issue I have with Buddhism for example is that it's too passive and regards emotions such as anger as something negative and teaches a more abstinence based lifestyle while in Satanism we should actively commit so called "sins" as long as they don't do harm onto others.

That it's also active rebellion against christian morality and oppressive institutions. Satan is the antithesis to christianity.
It combines activism, spirtuality and imagery that just speak to me.
It's a pre existing belief system and community without being institutional.
Graylight · 51-55, F
@PrincessOfHell Thanks for the insight; most of us don't stop long enough to investigate what we think we shouldn't like. You make cogent points and this presents an honest case for a different kind of spirituality. Thanks for taking the time.
Renkon · 36-40, M
I understand that one is agonistic. It is an extreme style of logical thinking, but it can also be reasonable.

What I don't understand is being a 'Satanist' and agonistic at the same time.

How can someone be both an Agonist and a Satanist? Unless you have evidence or personal experience that 'Satan' exists? Isn't it the same as believing in Divinity without evidence.?

It appears to be contradictory.
@Renkon Agnostic means that I am aware that I cannot know because there is no evidence for a higher power. I still choose to follow a spiritual belief yet I wouldn't claim truth.
My personal spiritual experience is not evidence.
Renkon · 36-40, M
@PrincessOfHell
I've always been a spiritual seeker rather than a believer. So I found it intriguing that you used the phrase "spiritual belief."

Spirituality and Belief, in my opinion, are opposites in nature. Spirituality is the experience of truth, whereas belief is the acceptance of something as true without any basis in experience.

So, what, in your opinion, is spiritual?
My personal spiritual experience is not evidence.
I believe that one's personal experience is themost significantproof. And to have spiritual experience is a wonderful boon.

PS : Would you care to share any of your spiritual experience, if it is possible.?
A simple question: what was it about Satanism that made it seem appealing to you? Satanism has had a very bad press over the years, and even though I don't know much about it, I do know that it's often misrepresented in the mainstream media and movies. Christians especially like to condemn it, but I seriously doubt they understand what it is they're condemning.
@Cassie2083 The aesthetic and that it is not bound by set rules and organisations. It's empowering rather than shaming. More spiritual than a Religion.

Yes we do have bad press but if we were seen positively in the mainstream we would have either failed or archieved challenging established norms and beliefs. Satanism is very diverse so nazi fringe groups deserve the bad press and while far away from reality depictions in horror and fantasy media are fun to watch.
The Satanic Panic for example was a very strange period in US history.

Satanism is the antithesis to the christian belief so I understand the condemnation, it goes both ways but I'd prefer christians would engage without misrepresentation.
Are you a LeVayan Satanist?
DaveyTaco · 31-35, M
are you really a princess? o.O
Agnostic satanist…. Lolz

Bipolar?
Iwantyourhotwife · 22-25
What are you agnostic of?

Do you worship Satan?

What are the fundamental tenets, teachings, or core beliefs for Satanism as a system of belief?
@Iwantyourhotwife Of a higher power in general I choose to still believe even though it is unlikely. I use it to empower myself and others. Spirtuality that doesn't claim absolute truth like christians do for example.

I don't think worship is the perfect term but I seek out a relationship to Satan as an inspiring figure.

There is no set belief system because there are many different satanic practices and branches.
I distance myself from the far right and violent branches.

I do like the tenents of the Global order of Satan

1.Self-fulfilment and personal understanding allow us to support ourselves and therefore others.
2.Respect the inviolable body, autonomous will, and sovereign right of every individual to guide their own life and being; remembering that enjoyment of these rights is predicated on respect for the same in others.
3.Science, evidence, reason, and critical thinking should guide our beliefs about our universe. Truly critical thinking can only be achieved by challenging your own preconceptions and opinions, providing a more balanced outlook to help us make better informed decisions.
3.Act with empathy, compassion, and wisdom towards yourself and others.
Justice always takes precedence over laws, institutions, and religious texts, as long as the pursuit of it does not countermand the pillars.
4.All people make mistakes. Allow them to correct those mistakes, as we seek acceptance in others over our own.
Satanism taught me that our sins are just part of our human existence and that we can strive to do better and stand strong instead of trembling in fear of God.
It taught me that only through rebellion we can be our true self and embrace who we really are.
It taught me to seek knowledge and wisdom.
It taught me to love ourselves and value no god higher than ourselves and our loved ones and fellow human beings.
Satan represents undefiled wisdom instead of hypocritical self-deceit.
Satan represents man as just another animal who, because of his “divine spiritual and intellectual development,” has become the most vicious animal of all.
Satan represents all of the so-called sins, as they all lead to physical, mental, or emotional gratification.
Strawbsy · 26-30, F
When christians go through sorrow, they seek out Jesus as he promised heaven.

What about Satan ? What did he promise besides hell ?
@Strawbsy Freedom, enlightenment and knowledge, self love and real empathy, rebellion against oppression, seeking the beauty of the world and living your life to the fullest instead of waiting for the false promise of heaven by a cruel demiurge, ...
Graylight · 51-55, F
Why satanism?

and

If you believe in the entity of Satan or Lucifer, must you not also believe in the God who cast him out?
@Graylight Nice aesthetic, accepting people, no institutions that bind me and a much better alternative to christianity

I do and I reject the tyrant
Ynotisay · M
OK. How can be both a believer and non-believer at the same time?
Ynotisay · M
@PrincessOfHell OK. You choose to believe. Then that negates the agnostic part. It's a pick a lane thing. No different than an atheist Christian. Satan is a construct of Christianity and the Satanic Temple and Church of Satan are both non-profit religious entities. Whatever. People like to qualify themselves. I don't get it. I'm an atheist because it's all nonsense created by men to me. And LaVey was clearly driven by money and fame but that's nothing unusual. People can do their own thing.
@Ynotisay Atheism is the lack of belief and agnosticism the lack of knowlegde so you can be an agnostic christian but not an atheist one.
Ynotisay · M
@PrincessOfHell Nah. That's just more nonsense that people latch on to so they can feel, I don't know, special. People can pray to freaking rocks for all care. Just be decent. And nothing against you personally, because I don't know you, but the self-classification stuff just seems like nothing but look at me from where I'm standing. I've seen it in atheist/agnostic forums. It's just silly. Whatever floats the boats I guess. But I just don't get it.
GuyWithOpinions · 31-35, M
I would like to manifest free hookers and cocaine. How would i go about this
@GuyWithOpinions Imagine it, make a deal with the devil in your mind, call your local dealer, run and try to get away without paying.
Enjoy yourself to the fullest.
Imsleepy · 31-35
What draws you to satanism? The imagery, or something else?
@Imsleepy Initially the imagery and having something to believe in during difficult times.
Aesthetic, values and community are important to me.
Imsleepy · 31-35
Well, I’m glad you’ve found something that gives you that. @PrincessOfHell
Spotpot · 41-45, M
Are you a white nationalist its very common among satanist.
Graylight · 51-55, F
@Spotpot Can you prove that?
@Spotpot No politically I'm to the left and even have a degree in social anthropology.

There are Nazi satanist groups but they are not that common or in any way representative of the faith
ninalanyon · 61-69, T
So that means you are uncertain as to the existence of Satan?
@ninalanyon I just don't and we cannot know whether a higher power exists yes. I don't claim truth which is important

ViciDraco · 36-40, M
As an atheist with an appreciation for freedom of/from religion efforts undertaken by the Satanic temple I am just commenting so I her notifications of thread posts here...
badminton · 61-69, MVIP
So you doubt the existence of Satan?
@badminton I believe but at the same time acknowledge that I cannot know for sure and make no claim for truth.
Castenmas · M
Do you think Pluto will ever be a planet again?
bugeye · 26-30, F
Anton LaVey or satanic temple?
@bugeye satanic temple
PhilDeep · 51-55, M
What do you actually believe?
basilfawlty89 · 31-35, M
Are you LaVeyan Satanist or Theocratic Satanist?
@basilfawlty89 While I appreciate some aspects of LaVey I dislike Ayn Rand and objectivism which is too close to LaVeyanism therefore I am closer to theocratic satanism. Ideology wise I like the Satanic Temple but they lack the spiritual connections.
I'm not part of a bigger organisation.
