A simple question: what was it about Satanism that made it seem appealing to you? Satanism has had a very bad press over the years, and even though I don't know much about it, I do know that it's often misrepresented in the mainstream media and movies. Christians especially like to condemn it, but I seriously doubt they understand what it is they're condemning.
@Cassie2083 The aesthetic and that it is not bound by set rules and organisations. It's empowering rather than shaming. More spiritual than a Religion.

Yes we do have bad press but if we were seen positively in the mainstream we would have either failed or archieved challenging established norms and beliefs. Satanism is very diverse so nazi fringe groups deserve the bad press and while far away from reality depictions in horror and fantasy media are fun to watch.
The Satanic Panic for example was a very strange period in US history.

Satanism is the antithesis to the christian belief so I understand the condemnation, it goes both ways but I'd prefer christians would engage without misrepresentation.
