@PrincessOfHell Hmm. Interesting. One more question if I may. Given those aesthetics and the freedom from the hierarchy of a church, why Satan? Couldn't the same spirituality path exist free of any diety; a path like Buddhism, for example? I guess I'm asking what it was about your practice that called you to it specifically.

And thanks for the discussion. Learning is everything and no one ever wants to have a serious discussion about this.
@Graylight Perhaps but the issue I have with Buddhism for example is that it's too passive and regards emotions such as anger as something negative and teaches a more abstinence based lifestyle while in Satanism we should actively commit so called "sins" as long as they don't do harm onto others.

That it's also active rebellion against christian morality and oppressive institutions. Satan is the antithesis to christianity.
It combines activism, spirtuality and imagery that just speak to me.
It's a pre existing belief system and community without being institutional.

@PrincessOfHell Thanks for the insight; most of us don't stop long enough to investigate what we think we shouldn't like. You make cogent points and this presents an honest case for a different kind of spirituality. Thanks for taking the time.
