Possibly Minestrone. This time of year the garden is full of root vegetables. Another month and I'll be digging up everything before the frosts hit. So I'll wash; trim; peel and cook much of it and then create soups and cassaroles for the freezer then I can just grab a bag; defrost it; add leftovers and I'll have a decent warming winter soup.
My all time favorite is French Canadian yellow pea soup with Carando ham. Carando ham has a VERY special flavor, and we can only find it here once a year.
It's a very special recipe that calls for a turnip, carrots, celery, onions, summer savory, bay leaf, salt, pepper, and, of course, dried yellow peas...but without the Carando ham it's just not the same.
With thin sliced pork belly or shoulder, potatoes, carrots, daikon, napa cabbage, gobo root, shiitake, miso, a touch of sesame oil, garnished with chopped green onions.
It’s like the heartiest most satisfying miso soup. So fucking good!!!😋
I like a good seafood bisque. Or a good clam chowder. Or chili. Other then these, im not a big soup fan.

At the end of the summer holidays, we make jam. We have three fig trees in our garden, a large blackberry bush just behind it, and we take a trip to a farm for apples and plums. The house smells amazing.
