I have been in a situation whereby I was cautious about sharing my opinion.
Along the way my feelings were being crushed and my value was being reduced.
I started to feel very displaced.
I questioned everything and needed to take more time to assess whether my thoughts and feelings were irrational.
Eventually I became a pressure pot of nausea, hurt feelings and confusion.
Funnily enough when it all came out I was shown that I should be afraid to express my opinion. But instead of caving I stepped away.

No. I tend to keep some opinions to myself on some topics, but it’s not fear. I just don’t want to get involved in discussions that are miserable. I’d rather have fun and talk about things that are enjoyable. It’s a quality of life equation, and life is just better when you avoid some subjects.
Magenta · F
Not scared, but defo reluctant at times.. Besides I'm not a TMI person. Better to keep some things to self.
No, I'm not someone scared of sharing my opinion, but I will think to myself is this opinion wanted or helping? Context matters.
Prettybratbi1tch · 26-30, F
Yes I don't want to get blocked. It makes me sad and I cry myself to sleep about it.
mindstruggle · 31-35, F
I’m more afraid of hurting someone unintentionally than of speaking my mind.
DeWayfarer · 61-69, M
Mostly not afraid to speak out on most things. Sort of overly opinionated really. 😆

I have been trying to be less aggressive the last couple of years. Yet I do have a lot of people that block me still.

Block me and it really doesn't matter to me.
Ananke · 26-30, F
Sometimes I am. Many times I keep my opinion to myself to avoid causing drama. I am fairly conflict avoidant as a person.
4meAndyou · F
Not here on this forum. I can be brutally honest, and if there is blow-back, I have the option of blocking abusive responders.
No, not generally. I am capable of "reading the room", but that was a learning curve. 😏
mindstruggle · 31-35, F
@bijouxbroussard
Exactly!
SwampFlower · 31-35, F
Not scared but sometimes it’s pointless
empanadas · 31-35, M
@SwampFlower this!!! Sometimes it's not worth the squeeze
Achelois · F
No I speak up and live in my truth.
CrazyMusicLover · 31-35
Maybe sometimes I should be. Sometimes it's better to keep those to yourself.
I’m too afraid to tell you. Does that answer your question? 🙄
Greyjedi · M
No but maybe I should, because lots of people like being mean/rude because they don’t like hearing my usually well informed opinions.
Cigarguy · M
Depends on the topic. I don't ever talk politics and rarely talk about religion.
LordShadowfire · 46-50, M
Nope. Not scared. I just don't care to in real life because you can't exit a conversation by closing your phone. If somebody wants to get obnoxious in real life, I'm more likely to lose my temper with them.

ArtieKat · M
@SchoolBelle Who rattled your cage?
SchoolBelle · 61-69, F
@ArtieKat A big fat tom cat who thinks I am on his territory.
ArtieKat · M
Lol….. don’t think I’d ever be accused of that.
Nitedoc · 51-55, M
Not at all!
Justmeraeagain · 56-60, F
Not usually
HorrorandMusic · 26-30, FVIP
Online no, in real life, all the time.
YoMomma ·
Not always but it’s not always beneficial to do so .. opinions aren't always helpful 😒
Donotfolowme · 51-55, F
Reject · 31-35, M
Not enough people are scared of sharing their opinions. It’s usually the most useless ones that have to be the loudest.
Reject · 31-35, M
@NativePortlander1970 Sure. Keep being loud.
@Reject Stop being a pretentious prat, you would have never survived my life I had, truth be told I'm actually surprised I'm still alive after all my numerous brushes with death.
Reject · 31-35, M
@NativePortlander1970 You came to me. You approached me to talk. Remember that, that’s what makes you loud, and pardon my saying, I’m not interested in talking to you.
Katie01 · F
In real life, no. On this site, yes. I could say I'm blonde and someone will call me a nazi
nedkelly · 61-69, M
No, if you are offended it is time to look in the mirror and you will see the problem
tenente · 36-40, M
No. But, was my younger more inexperienced self scared of sharing my opinion? Also, no.
hunkalove · 70-79, M
Dagnabit, you little whippersnapper, I'll show you some opinion! Now get me a bran muffin and some Metamucil and get off my lawn before I turn on the hose!

Nah, I just choose the topic wisely. Religion and politics? Hell no.
SchoolBelle · 61-69, F
@BritishFailedAesthetic And I did wonder about the "failed".

Failed as in an exam?

Or failed as in Third Reich?
@SchoolBelle

Third reich? Flipping heck!
SchoolBelle · 61-69, F
@BritishFailedAesthetic Just another measure of failure.
