What can't you believe still exists in 2024?

Racism … bigotry …
@Pitchblue

I agree with @Soossie and @tenente.

Racism, bigotry and Fascism.

While we might be able to excuse past generations for believing such ridiculous ideas and flawed philosophies, since past generations weren't as educated as we are. In today's world, no matter where we are from, we are the most highly intelligent species of human beings that have ever existed, so there is no excuse for those 3 things to exist today.

@calicuz people act in their best interests. That is human nature and will never change. And there will always be those that take shortcuts to get what they desire
I just came across a racist post against white people. It's human. There is always going to be racism. @calicuz

I love these questions; Bot was a super-duper idea: I guess I can make a short list

1) Belief in God. It is so weird that given how much we know about our world and how data driven (data points to support) our life is that people still think their is a dude with a beard that lives in outerspace.

2) Physical libraries. I love that the still exist but I thought it would be more apt to be downshifted and re-directed books to e-books on file servers and just have a physical footprint for small community gatherings

3) Work in office jobs. I mean if it retails or a food service I get it but a lot of businesses having employess show up to work (not my employerer ) not only downgrades productivity but creates a useless ongoing business expensive for the business

4) Burying dead instead of cremation. I mean, I get that it was a tradition we inherieted from prior to 2000 but I mean how many plots can we have and what is the point to keeping a carcass around for as long as possible?

5) typewriters--or at least a market for them that keeps them in business. I don't have feelings one way or another but interesting it still exists

Turning the clocks back and ahead.
Taxes.
Inheritance fees.
Annual rental increases.
Burying people as compared to cremation or other natural methods.
Lack of birth control in third world countries to prevent unnecessary deaths of children.
Taxes on retirement savings.
GST and PST taxes.
Fees for basic utilities as water and cable.
The false practices of letting immigrants or refugees get subsidized housing and free health care and their practising all their customs, languages, etc. in a new country. For those who come to a new country they should attempt to be part of it. People will hate this comment. It is the truth.
Lack of government funds for anything senior or retiree related.
People including children living off food banks. Why?
Bringing in animals from other countries when each country has plenty that need homes within.
People living off government funds who are physically and mentally able to work. Not having a time limit for people to either get new job skills/ training or get more education.
Women not having job skills in this modern world. Being prepared to financially take care of themselves snd their kids if need be.

@eventtemple123 that is a good one--a really fixable issue / and even one where if money is the only motivator can be monitized.
