Why would someone create false rumours about another person?

@SW-User i always did and got slated for it.... as I said, I became known for being paranoid and over sensitive. But, in the last couple of years i've learned of a number of peeps been treated a similar way by the same groups of people.
I dont see any of them here anymore so dunno if they are still here. If they are, im sure they will be informed 'that daft sad ole cow RubySoo is still moaning about what happened years ago' by someone! Lol. And, im sure they will still get a kick out of knowing that...lol

This is an awfully weird place to spread hate. It's pretty much completely anonymous. How much fun can it be to insult strangers?

@cherokeepatti Ideally, but I believe that does depend very much on just who is listening. Sometimes the 'truth' doesn't matter much to people, when they want to believe something.

@Piper yeah there are people like that. And if they are that damned gullible so be it.

@Piper so true. The truth is irrelevant when people want to believe anything that feeds their agenda.

This is what I call enablers. These people could actually help her heal and yet they focus on something else. Anyway, it is confusing behaviour and yet typical.

@SW-User I actually had to question myself, am I now blocking for spite of being blocked by someone I love? And the feelings were mutual, or expressed as being, so I toiled over a heart's minute, if you are willing to do this, then you learn the meanings too.

@SW-User It is sometimes a knee jerk reaction to block someone we have love for and they love us. For whatever reason they chose to block but it could be for so many reasons and not necessarily something bad for you. They may just need some cooling off period. These are just my thoughts as a random stranger. Only you know your situation.

@SW-User Yes I know, and I won't say too much upon this, but there might be also something about places like this. They are so transient and anonymous, people allow themselves their own flaws. I won't say they never found love, that cheapens the emotions, and I know some people do this in real life, but life always lived in person has a way of forcing people to see themselves, their loves, and their relationships.

One thing I know in my heart I've always needed, understanding, conversation and mutual respect no matter how torn it becomes.

@SW-User I was so glad when she quit that job after having a baby. She ended up leaving her husband to raise that child when he was young and running off to Canada. That man would do anything for her and she blew it.

@SW-User yeah I agree. She did her first husband wrong too. He worked with us and was a good man. Ended up quitting and starting a business and then went to truck driving school and bought a semi, made enough to buy a second semi to lease out and make money. He also bought a house. She blew that too.

@ElRengo yes I get that. I don't recognise myself from even 5 years ago and yet there is a familiarity in my experiences. Like a shadow that is there, almost faint.

@mindstruggle Fortunately, irl I have never had such an experience. It's all the more reason I find it so bizarre when it happens. Like my cells do not know how to react because they have no muscle memory. 😂

@SW-User Your question poses that scenario. If I am whispering something to you about another person, that does seem to be talking behind that person's back.

@Zeusdelight or two totally different people could be talking about a third person. The third person could be a person who doesn't partake in such hobbies.

@SW-User Whichever scenario, the third person is innocent, aren't they? They are simply being talked about.

The difficulty is what is said about that person by one person to the other. Is the speaker being truthful or manipulative or even partly both?

@Futuremirror It's very disturbing and yet not surprising based on what I have learned of human nature. But even more disturbing to be at the end of some stupid fake rumour. Good thing someone confronted me about it or I would not even have known. And I hope this person realises the snake they deal with.

@PoetryNEmotion She definitely cannot take from me. It's more a nuisance to have to deal with this kind of thing. She had been blocked because she started getting more and more unhinged and no amount of being civil was calming her down.
Not my problem though and I tried my best to talk sense.

At work, we have someone like this ....and most people fawn to them .
But the interesting thing is, when they aren't there - everyone is happier, more relaxed and laugh more....and get along better.

Which I think is very telling .
To me it means, they aren't friends with this person out of genuine affection and respect, they are 'friends' with them only so they aren't a target.

A friendship made of Fear and falsity is basically a very fragile one 🙄....in fact, I question if it's one at all 🤔

@OogieBoogie worth thinking about. Sometimes people encourage such friends because a part of them enjoys that toxicity. They end up gaslighting themselves when they refuse to listen to the nudges of their feelings.

@iamonfire696 there is a part of me that thinks she made it up about someone telling her. She was progressively unhinged with her accusations until I blocked her.

@SW-User She likely did make it up. Glad you blocked that person. You are living rent free in that persons head and she means nothing to you.

@SW-User Well, that suits your narrative. In my particular experience that I speak of, the rumour and accusation about me was cuckoo level false.
