Why would someone create false rumours about another person?

back in highschool, the bus was late, and all the annoying people from the other classes who are always late were not believed by the secretary, but i said no its true i was on it too, and instantly believed.
as i'm a teachers pet and always nice to everyone. ☺️

so even if i know your secrets i'll not let them slip unless you force me too, it only happened once though! 🥺
