Believing In Evolution Is Dangerous

Evolution never happened; God already established that He created the Heavens and the Earth. Believing in evolution can't change that. Debates should be discussed on other subjects and not on God and His Word. God has proven Himself to mankind through His Word and His work. Man can never change what God has already established even before the foundations of the Earth.
@sree251 Fingernails, fingers, head, hair, whatever, are make-belief things you identify and make names for.

That's the most imaginative thing I've heard yet. Tell that to people who have lost their hair to cancer, their limbs to diabetes or to MS and have ended up in a wheelchair. They are very real to them and to all of us who don't live in a simulation or fantasy world.
@sree251 will you go back and read my reply to your question again, please. I'm not sure you saw it because I wrote another reply to your special question of speaking only of Jesus.

Also.....you said....Thank you for your accommodation. My approach to the study of Jesus' teaching is to dismiss the Old Testament in its entirety. The reason is because it is Jewish scripture, pertains to Judaism, and opposed to Jesus' teaching.

The Old Testament is not opposed at All to Jesus is teaching. In fact it is in harmony and agrees with Jesus's teaching. The Old Testament coincides with the New Testament and should not be dismissed. For example, the book Daniel, coincides with the Book of Revelation in the New Testament. It is not just Jewish scripture. It is scripture that God wanted all to read. The two books coincide in great harmony. Daniel even speaks of those things to come, mentioned in the Book of Revelation. God has said we either believe all of His Word are none of it. The whole of it contains God's truths that he wants mankind to know and not have to guess about.
@sree251 Jesus never spoke about our reality as being non-material. What verse would that be? He created a real world with real people in it.

I could go over this with you and I have, many times, but you still refuse to accept what Jesus said, that we have eternal life, our soul never dies, and that it goes to one place or another, but there's no reincarnation. Scripture says that. God said that. It is you that keeps saying that there's no domain we go to after we die, but Jesus said just the opposite and you said that you wanted to go by what He says, not what man says. "Everlasting" means timeless. There is no "time" in eternity and I'm not going to hash over this again for the next 5 days. You will have to believe what Jesus said, or not. Are you teachable and reachable as to what Jesus said in His Word?
sree251 · 41-45, M
@LadyGrace You said: "Jesus never spoke about our reality as being non-material."

What do you think he meant when he asked us to give up everything and follow him? Follow him where? What's the urgency if following him meant live this life like any atheist out there in the material world till the body dies? Being born again is laughable if there is no material difference between you and Joe Biden or the big bad wolf.

If we truly follow Jesus, we must be able to walk on water too. Otherwise, it's just talk.
The universe has a beginning and therefore requires a cause of energy in the universe and people say, "Well, you know God made the universe, but then who made God?" God is eternal. He doesn't have a beginning and therefore doesn't require a cause, and that may be a little bit hard to grasp, but there's nothing irrational about an eternal being; there is something irrational about something popping into existence from nothing [evolution], because that violates cause.
@sree251 And the Lord shall guide the continually, and satisfy thy soul in drought, and make fat thy bones; and thou shalt be like a watered garden, and like a spring of water, whose Waters fail not. Isaiah 58:11

For as the rain comes down, and as the snow comes from heaven, and returns not, but Waters the earth, and makes it bring forth and bud, that it may give seed to the sower, and bread to the eater. Isaiah 55:10

You miss a goldmine of spiritual treasures, when you miss reading and learning from God's Word. A wealth of spiritual truths. Did you know that God has every hair on your head numbered? He knows every single hair you have on your head, and when it falls to the ground. You would not know that, unless you read God's Word and see how precious you are to Him.
sree251 · 41-45, M
@LadyGrace I read only words attributed to Jesus.
@LadyGrace Jesus Healed Bartimaeus

Bartimaeus was a blind beggar, who called out to Jesus for mercy and healing. The faith of Bartimaeus is seen in how he addresses Jesus as the Son of God. While the crowd tells the blind man to be quiet, Bartimaeus just became louder! When Jesus told his disciples to bring the blind man over, a miracle happened because of his faith.

Luke 18:35-43-As he drew near to Jericho, a blind man was sitting by the roadside begging. And hearing a crowd going by, he inquired what this meant. They told him, "Jesus of Nazareth is passing by." And he cried out, "Jesus, have mercy on me!" And those who were in front, rebuked him, telling him to be silent. But he cried out all the more, "Son of God, have mercy on me!" And Jesus stopped and commanded him to be brought to him. And when he came near, he asked him, "What do you want me to do for you?" He said, "Lord, let me recover my sight." And Jesus said to him, "Recover your sight; your faith has made you well." And immediately he recovered his sight and followed him, glorifying God. And all the people, when they saw it, gave praise to God.

This blind man's simple faith had opened his eyes to see Jesus for who he truly was and receive forgiveness from sin and eternal life.
@Axeroberts
i think it depends on the level of evolution.
You say you believe in God, yet you contradict him. Where do you actually stand? You say you believe in God yet not as our sole Creator, as the Bible says. That's really confusing. You either believe in evolution or in God as Creator. You cannot mix the both. You cannot believe in God and His Word, and also in evolution, because that is not supported by the Bible in any way, and in fact, contradicts it. You must make up your mind what you believe and why.

The Bible says a double-minded man is unstable in all his ways.

James 1:8
A double minded man is unstable in all his ways. Their loyalty is divided between God and the world, and they are unstable in everything they do.
sree251 · 41-45, M
@LadyGrace Absolutely! God's word is not found in any book. It is a guiding light that appears when I sense danger in the material world and need protection.
@sree251 A person misses so much when they neglect to read God's Word. The Bible is God's Word. It says faith comes by hearing, and hearing, by God's Word. Jesus's disciples lived according to God's Word. So should we also. Jesus said, "Keep this Book always on your lips; meditate on it day and night, so you will learn from it, be wise, and be prosperous and successful. Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you, wherever you go. Joshua 1:8-9 Why would God tell us to read His Word, if it wasn't important to our lives? Wisdom does not come automatically. The Bible teaches us that wisdom comes only from God. The very reason we need to read God's Word, so we know these things. Ignore it, and we are ignoring God.

This is why Jesus said in His Word that His Word is a lamp unto our feet and a light unto our path. Psalm 119:105. Why would He tell people to live by His Word, if it wasn't truth? When we follow what the Bible says, we are also following Christ, God the Father, and the Holy Spirit. One does not do anything without the other. The Bible is an intricate part of a follower of God, everyday life, and a road map for mankind to know about who God is, learn prophecy, and how to have salvation and eternal life in heaven. Without it, no one would have known these things. It is a spiritual guide and teaches many wise lessons. It is a treasure to the soul. We read it's words from the Holy Spirit and this helps us grow as followers of Christ. Neglect that, and our spirit grows weak because just as we need food to stay alive, we need to read God's word to feed our spirit and keep it alive and growing in the Lord. The Bible contains all the teachings of God in Jesus Christ, His son. It renews our mind and spirit and through it, the Holy Spirit speaks to our hearts and minds. It is our definitive source for the answers to our questions about God. In its pages, are life. It is our road map for life and helps us renew our minds and our Spirit, so we can know God's will. Reading the Bible allows us to be certain of what God said. The Bible is our final authority. "Sanctify them by the truth; your Word is Truth." John 17:17

Jesus said, "You study the scriptures diligently because in them you have eternal life. These are the very scriptures that testify about Me, yet you refuse to come to Me to have life." John 5:39-40

"If you remain in Me and My words remain in you, ask in My name, and it will be done for you." John 15:7

In the past, God spoke to our ancestors through the prophets at many times and in various ways, but in the last days He has spoken to us through His Word and by His Son, Jesus, whom He appointed heir of all things, and through whom also He made the universe. The sun is the radiance of God's glory and the exact representation of His being, sustaining All Things by His powerful Word. After Jesus had provided purification for sins, He ascended unto heaven and sat down at the right hand of His Father in heaven. Hebrews 1:1-3

2 Timothy 3:16-17 states that God's Word is profitable to us for teaching, for reproof, for correction and for training in righteousness.

Then read Romans 15:4 - "For everything that was written in the past was written to teach us, so that through the endurance taught in the scriptures and the encouragement they provide, we have hope."

Reading the Bible helps us know how to keep from sinning. "I have hidden your Word in my heart, that I might not sin against you. Psalm 119:11

Science does not contradict the existence of God. They go hand in hand. There is nothing in the bible that defutes evolution. God created the sciences and we can use that to become closer to God.

What is dangerous is spreading false testimony about God.
GodSpeed63 · 61-69, M
@Random3838
there is just one problem with that...i am a christian and i do not interpret that passage in this way. Are you saying I dont have the Holy Spirit in me? What about the next christian who interprets it a third way; and the next and the next and on and on. How many different interpretations can there be? Do you see the error in that theology?
There's only one interpretation of God's Word and that belongs to Him and whomever He wishes to share it with. Read the third chapter of John where Jesus talks about being born again.

No where in the bible does it give you the age of the earth. That calculation was made by Bishop Usher. And it doesn’t jive with events that can be referenced outside the bible.
God’s wisdom and knowledge may be infinite, but have you ever noticed, it offers nothing new on information and sciences already in existence? Except when god’s word is shown to be wrong.
@Random3838 You said, science and God does not and cannot contradict. Yet science contradicts God's word all the time. It claims that the universe and ourselves were not created by God but by evolution, or The Big Bang Theory. It says that Noah's ark didn't exist because we haven't found it yet but I think that's more political because it was claimed that the ark was found in Turkey but that government will not allow us access. But those are only two things. There are plenty more things that some scientists disagree with what the Bible says. There are Christian scientists that know the truth, but those are not the majority. Nevertheless, science can't disprove God.

If evolution is real, where's the evidence of the intermediary species? The half-ape, half-man? 3-quarters-ape, 1 quarter-man, etc? There isn't any.
DocSavage · M
@GodSpeed63
Unlike god, it’s already been done.
You still haven’t answered why god lied about it. If science is god’s way of showing his work, then evolution should be one of his greatest achievements. It’s really an excellent way to spread life around the planet. Why do you deny it ?

Again, you have nothing, Doc, you're just here to argue which shows that you can't discern your left hand from your right.

And what do you have ? Empty claims . And an empty god.
By the way, the opposable thumbs, on our hands. More proof of evolution.
So I still have more than you do.
Graylight · 51-55, F
Utter cherry-picked misinterpreted nonsense. Patently false nonsense, at that. But good try with the set.

And evolution is a reality. If you think it's a "theory," learn to define a scientific theory and discern it from a "hunch."

We have changed, over time, our understanding of the laws of physics. Newtonian theories of gravity have given way to Einstein, who informed Hawking. But objects didn't stop floating in the air as we worked out our understanding of the principles that rule them.

Evolution is a fact. We can see it, measure it, find multiple instances of the same laws. We can watch adaptation occur in nature as we speak.

Argue all you like the nuances of a text or the exact location of an event, but yo run in circles debating that which is already known and commonly accepted is a fool's game.
Where do you think you got your intelligence from?
If you’re implying that intelligence is a gift from god, then why did god leave us so much evidence for evolution and natural selection, when he , himself knows it’s false and misleading ?
The theory didn’t just pop out of nowhere. It’s the cornerstone of modern biology. You can argue “macro” and “micro “ all you want. But it’s all evolution nonetheless. So god is messing with us, and not to be trusted.

He didn't, Doc, it's just your wishful thinking based on false conclusions of evolution scientists who can't discern their left hand from their right hand.

The only truth in the whole bible is on the back cover “Printed in China”
And so is the need for others to "revise" God's Word, dangerous, as we see so many doing today, and not referring to yourself, by any means! God's Word doesn't need revising! It changes the whole meaning, when man decides to do that. This is why I strictly stick to the King James version. IMHO, it follows more closely to the original manuscript than any others, without twisting the Word of God.

Yeah we can. The Bible condones slavery. Tells you who to buy them from, how much to pay , how long you can keep them, and how to force them to stay in your service for life. We Don’t do that anymore. We don’t go take kids out and stone them to death for misbehaving. It’s ok to eat shellfish. Same sex marriage is legal. We get rid of god’s laws when they become obsolete and inconvenient. Even Jesus said they were unchanging. But we still find ways to do it.

@DocSavage The Ten Commandments are timeless. No society is upgrading the penal code.
DocSavage · M
@sree251
The Ten Commandments are narcissistic. The first four are about him.
sree251 · 41-45, M
@DocSavage It depends on your interpretation of those Commandments. Take the First Commandmanent for instance.

First Commandment: "Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image", under the Augustinian division used by Roman Catholics and Lutherans.

This makes a lot of sense to me. It tells us not to make an idol out of yourself. Self-worship. In America, we idolize movie stars, rock stars, sports stars, and every mother's son and daughter who has more than a million followers on social media. Elvis Presley was killed by this kind of madness. It was just to hard to become the King.

“The image is one thing and the human being is another. It’s very hard to live up to an image, put it that way.”
— Elvis Presley

[big]WTF[/big] Does that mean ?
It’s an obvious question . If god created everything, why the leftover body parts ? You would think he could do a better job.
I dunno ....I think gods great design includes evolution .

What's a millennia or 10 to God ?
God is outside time .
What was explained to us in simplistic terms thousands of years ago may be something highly complex beyond our comprehension and ability to believe .

Maybe we were told the simple version, within our mental capabilities to understand .

What god does, how he does it, is not for us to understand .
Excluding ideas, evidence and knowledge from gods design is like refusing gravity , because you can't see it or understand it 🤷
