What's your limit of age gap in a relationship?

Do you think that there should be a limit of age gap between a couple?
What's the biggest age gap you have ever had or would like to have?
Softandsweet2 · 31-35, F
Trying to assign a number to something like that is silly. If you like someone and you’re both healthy, what does it matter? You’re going to pass up something good cause he’s a year over the limit? Maybe I’m missing something.
Regalex · 41-45, M
@Softandsweet2 was he married before? Did he have kids?
Softandsweet2 · 31-35, F
@Regalex no - well, he was married before, but no kids. He wanted me to bear his children, but I just wasn’t ready for that.
Regalex · 41-45, M
@Softandsweet2 not able to DM you. Would you be ok to take this over there by sending a DM?
Frostcloud · F
i dated someone 25 years older than me and -50/10 dont do that. anyone close to 40 dating anyone under 25 is weird. their brains are still developing
As long as you have that chemistry going age is less of an issue. At 25 I was dating a guy that was 41.
WillaKissing · 56-60, M
I always have said let the couple make their own decisions as to what they think is good for them.

I have been older by 10 years to younger by 7 years in relationships with women. I remain single to this day so I cannot say as to what works best.

I would have to meet a woman and see if we have compatibility and desire for each other and to take it from there.

Now me being 59 years old I really would not want to date a woman younger than 35 years of age; I do not have the time or patience to raise my date to an establish adult age and career and such.
MaryDreamilton · 46-50, F
@WillaKissing What's the apostrophe for?
WillaKissing · 56-60, M
@MaryDreamilton You figure it out on your own.
MaryDreamilton · 46-50, F
@WillaKissing I can't. It's unfigureoutable (if that's the correct word).
Kiki0147 · 36-40, M
if there is love and having a good time any age is 100% ok. Older women are by far the most beautiful sexy confident people. when I was 32 i took a friend's grandma to hospital for a cancer scare lucky, she was in remission. on the way home the more i blocked her advances she won ended up getting the most amazing blow job, she then said i behaved my whole life knowing i might die any time she's going to do what makes her happy, we ended up fucking each other like there was no tomorrow, she let me do things i never thought I would best time most amazing sex i ever had in my life. we did things to each other you would never believe. she knew exacle how to make me shake uncontrollable till i orgasmed. lasted for 6 years till she got ill. Most of the sexual stuff stopped but still did the least energetic things still masturbated each other, blow jobs muffin her and on occasion fucking i immediately started caring for her 24 hours a day till she passed. being with her was the best time of my life. you haven't lived till you get your brains fucked out by an older woman. I was 32 she was 72 in amazing shape body to die for. sadly, she passed away at 81 years old. best time of my life would do it again in a heartbeat. people are going to say nasty things i don't care, they don't know what they are missing. think and say what you want i know i had the most amazing time and she also had the most amazing time till the end .

Old people use young adults for their hot bodies and lack of common sense and experience. I think that's the issue...it's predatory....but if that's not the case I think 10yrs with anyone above 25 is fine.
Cat2001 · 22-25, F
I prefer older men, so the bigger the age gap the better.
Tarnished · 26-30, M
5 years is the max for me.
Matt85 · 36-40, M
i think maybe 35 is the youngest i would date
Nanori · F
Biggest I had was 15 years older than me, turned out to be the biggest regret of my life so far.

I'd say 1 or 2 years at max, either older or younger
GuyWithOpinions · 31-35, M
I think 5 years is a good maximum before it gets wierd. Like when you see a couple thats like 30 and 25. It seems normal. But 30-20 seems a little wierd. But then 30-40 seems ok too. Maybe it matters less the older you get or its just me. When you see something like 25- 65, then its weird like that guy bought her from her dad or something. You know hes got money or influence or something.
Casheyane · 31-35, F
@GuyWithOpinions Kinda think the same, yeah
I dunno; I think it matters less as time goes on, but there always seems to be a point where people don't quite have the same cultural touchstones to refer to with each other. I think the largest I've seen work for any time has been about 10 years. but I also tend to feel like if both people are adults and one's not overly influencing the other/there's not some kinda manipulation going on, it's none of my business.
Firestarter · 31-35, F
I have a new limit of 10 years.

I used to date someone 29 years older
Straylight · 31-35, F
A year and five months, the age gap between my wife and I. 😌
wudifu · 46-50, M
Just as lonf as you are happy and yourpartner is also....then who cares
black4white · 56-60, M
I love that people do what they want
@black4white nothing wrong with that if it's mutual
I prefer a dude my own age or like one year or two older but im actually married to a guy older than my father .. not that i wanted an old guy it just happened that i wanted to get married and he was there for me and actually i felt at home with him which was something i no longer felt at home to hostility there and..
Casheyane · 31-35, F
I think depends on you. I for one want someone older and wiser than me by say 5-7 yrs max. I don't mind less years gap but to be real, it's hard to meet someone my age who is mature in more than just one sense. Or at least, I haven't met them.
bert199 · 51-55, M
I don’t believe you should attempt to apply a limit. If you find a really good match and they’re just outside that limit, aren’t you just gonna move the limit? How do you say remove limits and have an open mind?
No limits per se.....

But I know there are many women here in the US that have an issue when they see a 50 year old guy dating or married to a 20 year old.

(PS: It's mostly women whining because most guys just high five when they see this..... 😄)
KatyO83 · 41-45, F
My current bf is 2 years older than me.
My last bf was 10 years younger than me.
My long term bf before that was 20 years older than me.

I appear to be age flexible.
MaryDreamilton · 46-50, F
As long as both partners are consenting adults, age doesn't matter. I'm 48 and my bf is now 67. We've been together 24 years (I've always preferred older guys).
in10RjFox · M
Age is a myth, as we are all mortals. And there is no logic in longevity as there are numerous causes of sudden death today. So expecting a younger person would live longer is a myth too. So it all depends on the what one sees in the other and how their minds connect. Living with someone is much better than living alone looking for a suitable match, as many lose their prime age in just looking and later settle for nonsense and suffer all life.
@in10RjFox The average person wants others closer to their age.due to common interests and experiences.
in10RjFox · M
@NativePortlander1970 That's more like a buddy. They get bored after sometime.
I'm 41, I wouldn't be interested in a woman younger than her 30s. It isn't a age gap thing for me, just.... they are nitwits in their 20s. I'd rather not.
Picklebobble2 · 56-60, M
I dated a woman 12 years older than I in my early 20's.
I also dated a woman 15 years younger than me in my early 40's.

Wouldn't recommend either if I'm honest.

There are certain stages in life that you hit as you go.
And i found the things we wanted from life were very different in each case.

We never argued about things like money or responsibility.
Our frustrations and troubles were more about whether or not to commit and buy a house or whether to start a family or emmigrate abroad for a different lifestyle.
Sutten · 36-40, F
I'm not comfortable with dating younger men, but older the maximum would be 4 years older.
Julien · 36-40, M
My wife was 12 years older than me , it never was an issue except that she was way immature at time
dancingtongue · 80-89, M
Chronological age is just that--a number. Relationships are built compatible and complementary values, lives and once we all reach adulthood chronological age is largely irrelevant; how we think, view life, act are not necessarily framed by chronological age. My late wife was only a month older than me. My late partner after her was 7 years older. My father was 10 years older than my mother. Chronology was largely irrelevant in all three.
@looking4thesun but how was it?
@caramelcoat it was the best time of my life at the time
@caramelcoat dm me?
iamBen · 61-69, M
Biggest gap I've experienced was about 30 years. I'm not certain if limits make sense. I do think one needs to think through what they are their partner are going through. Perspectives, expectations, and hopes change with time and experience. If the relationship can honestly support everyone's needs, go for it.
WaafaS · 26-30, F
I think as long as its legal who cares?
ElRengo · 70-79, M
Within my own generation.

Not sure if there should be one, provided it´s between adults.
But I suspect that same generation couples may find it (a bit) less harder to make it work.
With exceptions, of course.

The biggest age gap I have ever had was 11 years and was not a typical case in my life.
AllycatAD · 26-30
I'm older than my hubby by one year
Yaz69 · 36-40, M
There's no age limit
Kstrong · 56-60, F
@Yaz69 love doesn't know age difference
MyNameIsHurl · 41-45, F
Probably 5 years or so
DailyFlash · 56-60, M
My exwife was 5 years older than me. I didn't have an issue with it but she was self conscious about it. I'm not concerned with age, younger or older, as long as each person is fine with it. Sometimes it's hard to withstand the opinions of others.
iamBen · 61-69, M
I've been in a relationship with a woman 30 years younger than me. We lasted for a bit over 2 years. We fit together wonderfully because we both wanted what the other had to offer. It was a joyous time in my life.
popmol · 26-30, M
no need for an age gap, but i won't search love 15 years older or younger than me, as by the time one of us would be be done working the other has to go to long. death is also way to far apart from others!
Adogslife · 61-69, M
My wife is 11 years younger, but I’m a young 64 and in good shape.

I could date a woman in her fourties’, but any younger gets creepy to me. Plus, I think mature women make better lovers. They’re less inhibited.
ABCDEF7 · M
I guess 5 years.
RSquared · 61-69, M
I don’t think others should dictate for any couple. What works for them is fine by me.

My biggest gap, I was 41 and she was 22. My wife is 6 years younger than me.
I think the limit is when you were a high school senior how old were they. This is what I base mine on. Unless you’re over 40 and they are also older.
DeWayfarer · 61-69, M
Maximized above the legal age.

Limit your chances you won't get anywhere.

I haven't come close to my mothers 20 year difference. And she purely outlived her first.
Regalex · 41-45, M
As long as it’s between adults, it shouldn’t matter. It’s got more to do with mental maturity and compatibility rather than the chronological age.
ekwalizur · 41-45, M
Once had someone 2x my age go down on me, but I had a proper(ish) relationship with someone about 10 years younger
The percentage of age difference changes as people age 32 and 18 for me. That'd now be 48 and 32, wouldn't be seen nearly as strange
CountScrofula · 41-45, M
Depends on the age of the youngest participant.

Like a fifteen year old in an age gap is very different from a thirty year old.

10 years may be.. As per now according to my age....for relationship..
But i can date older too... Depends how chemistry goes
BigImo · 26-30, F
Age is completely irrelevant to me. I've dated people in their 50s and 60s and slept with people in their 70s and 80s
