@Convivial Unfortunately, your two most recent responders block me, so they can't read anything I posted about Obama's JCPOA. Sadly they're mired in right-wing lies and propaganda.
@ElwoodBlues much easier to ignore the truth then to answer it.... In some ways they have my sympathy.... It must be hard to continue believing when the evidence shows they are so far off track
On the whole yes, I believe his policies are benefiting America and will improving our way of life in the long run. He is solving a lot of problems and cleaning up decades of messes.
His approval rating comes primarily from his Republican base. It’s about 75% currently.
Nationally however, his approval rating fluctuates between 33% and 41% depending on the poll. The more the economy softens, the more you can expect those ratings to drop. Oil prices will play a huge part in that drop.
@SunshineGirl He thought the both sides wanted to end the war, they don't. So it will continue. He was right about one thing concerning the war but few realize it.
Domestically, tRump's DoJ regards due process & habeas corpus as optional and has been ignoring them. These are fundamental Constitutional rights, violated thousands of times, ground under the boot heels of our new secret police. In Minnesota they logged 96 court orders violated, essentially ignored, ground under those boot heels. Doesn't that bother anyone?
Internationally, faithful allies who have trusted us and supported us for decades have been alienated by random illegal tariffs, random insults, random threats to break treaties, treaties broken. It took decades to arrive at our level of world trust, and tRump is trashing it all.
And, of course, Mr "no new wars" took one year to get us involved in a doozy of a war in the Middle East with unintended consequences driving up oil & fertilizer prices.
Can you imagine any other president getting into this situation?? 2026-03-16: “Look what happened, in the last two weeks. They weren't supposed to go after all these other countries in the Middle East. Those missiles were set to go after them. So they hit Qatar, Saudi Arabia, UAE, Bahrain, Kuwait. Nobody expected that. We were shocked!”
Of course he is. Anyone with a grain of sense, who hasn't been brainwashed by the propaganda media, can see that Trump is the greatest President we've ever had.
Try not to twist my words Try to comprehend my words
I tried to comprehend your words. You appear to be saying that Clinton, with the 1996 IIRIRA, ended due process for immigrants. I provided specific information to show that that limitation only applied to individuals apprehended shortly after crossing the border without inspection or those arriving at ports of entry with fraudulent or missing documents.
And I pointed out that it specifically does NOT apply to people who were previously admitted under Temporary Protected Status who later had their TPS cancelled by tRump. Most of the "illegals" that tRump has been ranting about were made illegal by a stroke of tRump's sharpie. They entered LEGALLY. The IIRIRA limits don't apply to them.
And I pointed out that nothing in the IIRIRA enabled ICE to grab people out of courthouses while the people were attending immigration hearings. tRump's DoJ eventually admitted "error" there, but a lot of damage was done. And nothing in the IIRIRA enabled ICE to suppress info about where prisoners were held (habeas corpus). And nothing in the IIRIRA enabled ICE to ignore court orders (96 violated court orders in Minn in one month; links upon request). My statements here are all true; you've admitted you have no counter-argument.
PresidentBill Clinton signed theIllegal Immigration Reform and Immigrant Responsibility Act (IIRIRA)in 1996, which officially established the "expedited removal" process used for rapid deportations.
It authorized immigration officers to summarily deport certain noncitizens without a hearing before an immigration judge if they lacked valid documents or committed fraud.
The act largely stripped federal courts of the power to review these fast-track deportation orders, making them final and nearly impossible to appeal.
redefined "aggravated felonies" to include minor, nonviolent offenses, making even legal permanent residents (green card holders) subject to automatic and often retroactive deportation
It introduced the "3- and 10-year bars," which mandate that undocumented immigrants who leave the U.S. after staying illegally for certain periods are prohibited from returning for years.
While Clinton signed these measures as part of a "tough on crime" and "tough on immigration" platform, they remain asubject of significant controversydue to their impact on due process and family separation
For more details, you can review theIIRIRA summaryat Cornell Law School or theAmerican Immigration Council's fact sheeton expedited removal
to summarily deport certain noncitizens without a hearing
Notice that? not all noncitizens, only certain ones. Which raises the question, which noncitizens??
And I provided the answer above. IIRIRA applies to individuals apprehended shortly after crossing the border without inspection or those arriving at ports of entry with fraudulent or missing documents.
And IIRIRA specifically does NOT apply to people who were previously admitted under Temporary Protected Status who later had their TPS cancelled by tRump. Most of the "illegals" that as tRump has been ranting about were made illegal by a stroke of tRump's sharpie. They entered LEGALLY. The IIRIRA limits don't apply to them.
And, as I pointed out above, there are plenty more cases of ICE violating due process & habeas corpus that have nothing to do with IIRIRA.
Absolutely. And many of the things he’s doing are things the democrats were for. Until he actually did them instead of just playing lip service to them.
Yes, Donald Trump is doing exactly what he said he'd do, which means he's put America back to a time when America was great, which of course was during the time of the Industrial Revolution. The only thing missing today is horses pulling carts along the dirt streets.
He's a wonderfully articulate, highly desensitised person of spectacular intelligence and remarkable ability to just know exactly what to day and do at any given moment...
He is doing a fabulous job. If Presidents could run for a third term I would vote for him again. The man is working 24 hours a day to clean up the mess from the last two idiots who tried ruining the country.
Not really, started off well securing the border but since then there is a lot to disagree with his administration on policy. He’s pushing us closer to a digital police state as he has done everything possible to have no safeguards regarding AI being put in place.
He is debasing the currency and continues record deficit spending as other nations abandon the U.S. dollar. Trump has become the war president as he continues a globalist agenda of endless foreign wars. He never banned the dangerous MRNA vaccine and medical tyranny continues.
He has made strides on reigning in the climate cult but not enough. When you take a look honestly at Trump you begin to doubt if he actually cares about the middle class.
Who was held accountable for fraud in the Doge probe and other fraud around the country?
The quote below should cause rational people to ponder and think.
“A King may move a man, a father may claim a son, but remember that even when those who move you be Kings, or men of power, your soul is in your keeping alone. When you stand before God, you cannot say, 'But I was told by others to do thus.' Or that, 'Virtue was not convenient at the time.' This will not suffice. Remember that.” -King Baldwin from the movie Kingdom Of Heaven-
"To sell your soul is the easiest thing in the world. That’s what everybody does every hour of his life. If I asked you to keep your soul – would you understand why that’s much harder?"
He is doing the maximum amount of danger to gain personal benefit. He has turned the USA into a worldwide laughingstock that has no credibility, no friends, and a diminishing future the longer he is allowed to pursue his reign of terror. In other words, a reflection of himself.
