I subscribe to the idea that if you want something good, you have to pay up. Healthcare included. I pay a premium for God forbid the day I get ill or in a accident.

The Republicans are overriding votes that have already taken place, they are going against anything that will help the people. The Dems want to give the people stimulus money, healthcare insurance, jobs and the republicans are voting against the people. The Republicans are even voting against Clean Water. McConnell says he is 100% dedicated to stopping the Democrat agenda so he is 100% against helping the people.

We have hospitals for the poor in the United States, in all major cities, which are required to provide free health services for those who can't pay.

Only private hospitals have the right to turn people away, and it might behoove the poor people, like illegals, who claim to have no insurance to do a little investigation in advance of their need.

In the United States, all children and adults who are either disabled or on welfare receive free health care already.

All adults and children who are disabled or over the age of 65 automatically receive Medicare, which pays for 80% of most health care costs.

Just saying...you might want to research before you begin this pathetic crying for the "poor homeless children", who are supposedly, "dying of terminal diseases". They are all on welfare.

There are no children in the United States who are not taken up by CPS if their parents fail to provide food, health care, adequate shelter, and an environment conducive to attending school. Shelters are available, and there are about a hundred ways people can cut the line to section 8.

As a former worker in a Homeless Shelter for families with children, I am astonished at the false narrative here.

There is no such thing as homeless children in America. The children get taken into the state. And what country are “homeless” children dying because it certainly isn’t America 🤔 especially considering you can go to the hospital for free at any given time without money or insurance.

Especially considering defacs would readily be involved in the lack of care and management involving the child’s poor health

I also believe that people that put time and money into their health have the right not to have to pay for the healthcare of people who go to Mcdonalds every day. You multiply what you subsidize, and if you take from the more productive people there will be less productivity. Everyone gets dragged down.

People who want to improve the human condition and try to make the life experience a good one for everyone have recently been labeled as, "Bad people, horrible people".

Sorry. Universal health care is not a right. It is a privilege. It is earned and fought for by voters choosing elected officials who are NOT corrupted and bought by money from special interested groups that represent Pharmaceutical companies and Medical supply, and service operations and insurance companies; none of whom want and oversight while the gouge profit our of the people. Thats what turned a great simple idea into the dogs breakfast called Obamacare. Maybe the people deserve better. But until they get rid of the political background operators, they are not going to get it.

I once spoke to an American about universal health care and got his take on why it doesn’t exist. It should be a right for every American citizen…. Citizen… not non citizens that are illegally in the United States. Everyone should pay a small amount so that everyone who is a citizen can have healthcare.

Agreed. The US is the only first world nation in the world that doesn’t provide health care for all citizens. Even most second world nations have that and a decent number of third world countries too.

Canadian healthcare works, in part, because it limits demand. The US system works, in part, because the majority can obtain the care of their choice at the snap of a finger.

Life expectancy in Canada probably exceeds that of the US because Canada has a more managed population. Life expectancy in the US is lower, probably because the US has an unmanaged population.

There is probably merit for all 4 of the above premises. Why we can't all learn from one another is because the political interest tries to achieve its way by making the alternatives illegal.

You can also look at it from a national security standpoint. Almost 10 years ago if I remember right they did a documentary on a hypothetical pandemic that could collapse the USA into a walking dead level scenario and even back then they predicted the US for profit healthcare system would fail spectacularly and true to form it did but on a smaller scale even with Trump helping the failure along.

I do not like classifying services that others need to provide as rights. But I do look at it from a social investment angle and universal healthcare appears to be an amazingly good investment. Health and happiness of citizenry should be a government's top priority and the function that economies are meant to serve. If that isn't happening, then the economy is warped and broken. Universal healthcare plugs directly into the health component and also reduces the stress of worrying about the cost of medical care if something does go wrong. It's a no brainer if you want a vibrant, productive society.
