Universal Health Care is a right.

I don't know why you want to keep insisting on letting homeless children die of terminal diseases just to keep your stupid health insurance systems up and running. Canada has an awesome single payer system that helps its people out to a wonderful degree so all this "iT dOeSn'T wOrK" is pure BS. Social democracy is the way.

Sorry. Universal health care is not a right. It is a privilege. It is earned and fought for by voters choosing elected officials who are NOT corrupted and bought by money from special interested groups that represent Pharmaceutical companies and Medical supply, and service operations and insurance companies; none of whom want and oversight while the gouge profit our of the people. Thats what turned a great simple idea into the dogs breakfast called Obamacare. Maybe the people deserve better. But until they get rid of the political background operators, they are not going to get it.
America. The best Democracy money can buy..
@whowasthatmaskedman Sounds more like an excuse to maintain the status quo. You think every other nation who pulled it off had saints in office?

@whowasthatmaskedman America will get it someday. Once it's ready to join the rest of the first world in recognizing humanist policies as a priority.

@MickRogers I hope you are right.. But there are so many sheep who still buy the myth. John Wayne and Charlton Heston are gone and so is their country.
@whowasthatmaskedman In Canada it just took one man to get it to happen in one province. The rest of the country saw what they accomplished and basically told their representatives that they wanted the same thing or the politicians would be on the unemployment line.

@PicturesOfABetterTomorrow Great. I wonder if US States will ever agree on anything. I have my own thoughts on the why of it all. But an America divided is useful to hide your own agenda. There is absolutely no excuse for any American to be suffering from the effects of poverty in health, housing or education. And yet.............
@whowasthatmaskedman Agreed. I could see it happening in a place like Vermont. Once that happens and people see it work and it is no longer a "foreign" idea it could catch on elsewhere.
@sunsporter1649 More random incoherent bullshit from you.

Our country is not gone. I hope it never will be. If it does, you will suffer, like the rest of us.@whowasthatmaskedman
whowasthatmaskedman · 70-79, M
@PicturesOfABetterTomorrow No. Not saints.. And my own country has much to apologise to America for. Rupert Murdoch for one.
@whowasthatmaskedman No arguments there. Is he the one responsible for all the covid denialism I have been hearing about in some segments of the Aussie media too? An ex pat friend of mine mentioned it in passing.
whowasthatmaskedman · 70-79, M
@Oster1 Yes. Quite true. And right now we suffer through some imitation of America. Trying to keep a dead coal industry alive and treating a few of our own refugees and veterans very badly. All the time an Evangelist failed Marketing man as leader tries to convince us not to look behind the curtain. We still have a way to go before we have a Trump in office though..
