Gun violence is destroying children in the US, and really what most gun folk are saying about it is, "so what? Who cares? We love our guns more than we do our children." However, there are places in the world that still value the lives of children
you Brits have lots of stabbings and a murder rate in London that surpassed NYC. If you will remember, our right to keep and bear arms came out of necessity to deal with a very treacherous British army . Obama’s tenure as president saw a huge spike in Mass shootings ( most in history) and even terrorist attacks . Here anytime the left wants to push gun control we suddenly have a spike in mass shootings, usually carried by a deranged leftist .
Freedom isn’t free. Law abiding gun owners threaten nothing except those who threaten our freedoms. The current administration won’t punish the perps , just the law abiding citizens. You don’t like the fact that we Americans have freedom? Then don’t live here.

Why do you think the uk is a comparable example to the us? Do you actually think every country is the same and you can copy paste policies and get the same results?
The us has hundreds of millions of privately owned guns. We have the largest drug market in the world. We share an unsecure border with a drug producing country partially ran by drug importing cartels. The illegal gun market is huge and gun laws do nothing about that.
The uk is a fucking island with a low baseline of crime compared to us, and the gun ban didn't even significantly lower the homicide rate. Neither did the aus gun ban.
If it's so simple as "gun laws would stop it but they don't want to" why are the areas with the most gun crime so often also areas with very strict gun control?
I know it feels good to do something but why do something do ineffectual? This is a software issue not a hardware issue. 9/11, OKC and the Happyland Social Club arson are the three largest mass murders in US history and no gun was used in any of them. The largest school mass murder was done with dynamite.
This is a mental health issue. The kids who went to school with this kids all knew he was scary and weird with a penchant for animal abuse and cutting himself. Everyone who knew him knew he was a problem, teachers, cops and other adults but no one did anything.
He was already breaking a half-dozen Texas gun laws, what new law would change things?

To amend the constitution, 2/3 of both houses of congress can amend the constitution or there can be a constitutional convention and 2/3 of states push an amendment forward then it takes 3/4 of the states to pass. Try to get the RNC and DNC on board with a convention though. Too many pesky things like term limits would come up.
