No. Why would I jump out of a perfectly good airplane?
sunsporter1649 · 70-79, M
@Sevendays Having worked on airplanes and helicopters for over 65 years, I can say there are no perfectly good aircraft
Heartlander · 80-89, M
@sunsporter1649 what was that log book, the 781??? I don’t recall ever seeing a clean 781. Always something needing to be fixed or a pending inspection.
Heartlander · 80-89, M
@Sevendays Having dropped or watched thousands of military jumps and drops, I saw but one near serious malfunction. A streamer main canopy and a struggle to deploy a reserve chute. The streaming main blocked the reserve and by what seemed to be static electricity they held it together. The jumper had the wherewithal to push the reserve into the air stream and it fully deployed just 20 or so feet before hitting the turf.

@nobodyishome That is correct. I don't know much about india but I do know a little bit about their special forces the black cats.... Actually not a bad unit especially for a third world country

Once, sort of.
Air Force sea survival training. A parachute used as a parasail, yanked into the air from a Higgins used as a launch pad. Up to 600 to 800 feet until told to hit the quick release. From there it was like a normal post ejection descent into the ocean. Then a couple of hours in a leaky one man raft, clutching the shark repellent :)
As a military pilot dropped thousands of sky divers, airbourne, 87th, 101st, Army Golden Knights a few times, a few hi-low special forces. Also spent time on drop zone s as safety officer.

I’m skydiving right now.
nobodyishome · 31-35, F
no, not skydiving. But I have been in a simulator which is meant for anyone who wants to experience how it feels like to fly. I'm not sure what it's called. Its found at a lot of amusement parks around the world. I did this in Malaysia. Genting Islands.
calicuz · 56-60, M
No, but I've always wanted to. Now that I have a teenager at home, I'll wait until he's grown and out of the house before I consider seriously consider doing it.
I can only imagine the rush.

I was shot out of a cannon a few times when I worked at the circus and landed in a net out in the parking lot. Does that count as skydiving?
