[c=BF0080]Multiple kidney stones that seriously inflamed everything they touched.. And here I thought my trigeminal neuralgia was bad.. and I had 2 natural births with no drugs!

What was your worst? [/c]
MellyMel22F
@LadyGrace [c=BF0080]He deserved that and so much more. [/c]
@MellyMel22 I've never done that before but boy did he deserve it. I mean he had me screaming bloody murder. But anyway that's in the past and I made it through. I'm glad you did too.
MellyMel22F
@LadyGrace [c=BF0080]Thank you. I haven鈥檛 but I really should for one dr who was terrible. He was charging my insurance for things he didn鈥檛 even do. He was all about money. [/c]
itsok31-35, F
Ok, so it鈥檚 almost kidney stones.
But I had one particular migraine once that was worse than all 3 kidney stones. I get migraines often, and that one stands out as the worst pain, and I don鈥檛 know how anything could top it.
I was literally paralyzed from pain. I was not able to move. I was not able to cry. I was not able to think. I didn鈥檛 know pain could be like that.
LilymoonF
@itsok Migraines are horrible.... that is the worst I've heard. 馃槥

BlueVeins22-25
Hard to say, honestly, just bc I've never had that bad of pain all at once. Double ear infection was pretty bad until I learned just how effective ibuprophen is for the job. Unrelatedly, I ran into the ground once on a back road, slammed right into it face-first. At the time, I couldn't breathe and I assumed I'd broken a rib & punctured my lung with it. But as you can guess by the fact that I'm still here, that wasn't the case; I had actually just bruised the shit out of my torso muscles and winded myself lol.

It ached badly for a few months and my parents didn't believe me at first, but it was a more tolerable type of pain where it would partially subside if you just laid down and did nothing.
LilymoonF
@BlueVeins Yeah better than that crap Tylenol.
BlueVeins22-25
@Lilymoon I just use both!
LilymoonF
@BlueVeins yeah I guess you could... I never liked Tylenol. But to each their own.

Byron8by7M
I experienced severe abdominal pain, 10/10, in March 2019. In May 2019, after several tests (CT scans, MRI, fine needle biopsy, etc.), I was diagnosed with peritoneal mesothelioma (a rare form of cancer). I had surgery in July 2019, and I am okay for now.
Byron8by7M
@SomeMichGuy I spent nine days in the hospital, and it took me almost four months to recover. Over $300K in medical expenses, all paid for by insurance. For example: My hospital room was $2, 227 per day.
SomeMichGuyM
@Byron8by7 Wow...
Byron8by7M
@SomeMichGuy Indeed. I received IV Ibuprofen for pain - $200 per dose, four times a day, $800 total. As I recovered, a nursing assistant would take me for a walk in the hallway for exercise, $150 each time.
Starcrossed41-45, F
Compound calcaneous fracture, no pain reliever for an hour and a half. My heel basically exploded on the inside.
dubkebab51-55, M
@Starcrossed There there dear,you just sit ,unwind and have some herbal tea.
I'm not sure we are up for seeing those.
Save them for your daughter so she has no doubt of her warrior queen lineage.
Did you get through alla that and bypass opioid addiction? (jus' curious)
Starcrossed41-45, F
@dubkebab oh yeah. But I certainly had them at the beginning. Worse than gallbladder and having a kid.
dubkebab51-55, M
@Starcrossed Well sure,they are for managing pain. I've just heard too many AA stories begin with...well,the doc prescribed these pills...
I told my doc when I met her that I was a drug addict and wouldn't be playing any med seeking mind games-"but my mom gave me a bottle of Tramoldol,non opiate pain relief,they really work great-no high and my back pain goes away for 12 hours if I take two,you can top me up on those" She was stunned.'Those are heavy duty meds we give to cancer patients! I will give you 6,for emergencies.'
"Pain is your body giving you a message." (Yeah,like-work and aging sucks!)
I miss those things,they gave me superpowers.
When this doctor I could kill, told me it would be fine and there would be very very little pain if any, when he pulled the tube from my kidneys without any anesthetic. I had been operated on for kidney stones. If you ever have these, make sure no matter what they do, that they put you under. ALL the way under! The broken arm and shattered shoulder replacement surgery I had two years earlier, was easier than THAT! The second worst pain would definitely be childbirth. They say you forget, but no. Not that kind of pain. Not for me, anyway.
LilymoonF
@LadyGrace Damn that's terrible. That doctor is an ass.
@Lilymoon Oh he sure was. Different race and he hated me, it was clear. And I'm not prejudiced. When I first met him I love him to death. I thought he was so sweet when he smiled and then everything turned haha I think he got mad because he was in a hurry that day and he wanted to leave that other Stone in and it was a big one and I said no I want it taken out. And I said it sweetly

Weirdly, I was mowing grass and the push mower kicked up a pointed rock that imbedded itself in my lower leg, all the way against the tibia bone.

Imagine stubbing your toe with a nuclear warhead.

It bled and all that, but I nearly fainted from the pain - and it lasted for nearly an hour.

The doctor told me such missiles fired from a lawn mower are traveling 250 mph.

Blessedly, eventually it stopped.
SomeMichGuyM
@Mamapolo2016 OUCH! SHEESH!
Mamapolo2016F
@SomeMichGuy Not one of my better days, for sure.
SomeMichGuyM
@Mamapolo2016 I think that goes without saying! lol Wow...

@SW-User That is real pain. 馃き
hippyjoe195561-69, M
When I was about 18 I would get severe abdominal pains and end up in the hospital barely conscious. The doctors could not figure out what was causing the pain because they would press into my abdomen looking for abnormalities and the pain would disappear. A few months later I would be back. Eventually one doctor figured out it was appendicitis that didn't present itself like appendicitis. They took my appendix out and I have been pain free ever since.

Zaphod4246-50, M
When my eye started falling apart and stopped producing enough fluid to hold its shape. Nine months of pain like a hot knife twisting in it all day every day before the doctor stopped trying to save it and just decided to remove it.

By comparison, passing a twelve millimeter kidney stone is a distant second on my pain index.
LilymoonF
@Zaphod42 Oh god.... it's amazing the amount of pain humans can endure. 馃槥
SomeMichGuyM
@Zaphod42 OMG...that is an intense, horrible story...

Amazing!
Graylight51-55, F
There's a kind of pain, an internal sensation, when someone goes in with a scope, needle or other implements, as with deep joint issues. If awake and only locally anesthetized, this pain/sensation leads to an immediate urge to vomit it's so overwhelming. Full body cell involvement. If I don't feel it again, it will be too soon.
LilymoonF
@Graylight Oh my... that sounds terrible
Graylight51-55, F
@Lilymoon I'm far from the only one to feel it, but I wouldn't offer it to anyone. 馃樁

Literally, sharp pain in my chest when I experienced a heartbreak. No kidding. It felt as if I was having a heart attack. It lasted till the next day. I am healthy and I was in my late 20s so I'm not even sure why it happened.
LilymoonF
@SW-User Wow.... that's something for the textbooks.
SW-User
@Lilymoon I know one person who experienced the same and turned out she had pericarditis that was triggered by her heartbreak. I never went to the ER so I wouldn't know. It is mind boggling but I think a "heartbreak" is called so for a reason. People may take that lightly and think I'm dramatic but it really was the worst physical and emotional pain I experienced in my life.
LilymoonF
@SW-User Yup I believe that.... sorry you went thru that.
MasterLee56-60, M
Probably 4th degree burn. Happened slow so got to feel it for awhile before the nerves died.
LilymoonF
@MasterLee muffler on your firearm?
MasterLee56-60, M
@Lilymoon forearm
LilymoonF
@MasterLee Ohhh ok I get it now...
EidolonM
3rd degree burns. I've never felt such searing pain in my life...
and then lost sensation at the burn site for many many years.
EidolonM
@SomeMichGuy That's not even the worst of it. Consider yourself warned to read further...
Due to one doctor's mess - a few days after the incident, there were blisters forming like mountains and I went to a different doctor for a second opinion. He said he needed to react quickly to prevent infection & amputation, and so he needed to remove the outer later... no anesthetic... no drugs... just snip with a scissor and yank off with a tweezer. The skin snapped at every pore and sounded like cloth being ripped apart.
SomeMichGuyM
@Eidolon OMFG...UGH
LilymoonF
@Eidolon That's awful OMG 馃槗
SW-User
I've experienced very painful intestinal cramping that made me feel like I was going to pass out. I've also experienced intense pain from a UTI. More externally I once fell off my bike and the gear jammed into my leg. 馃槚
SW-User
tough one
maybe having the headmaster at my primary school trying to pull out a 'stone' out of my forearm after i had broken it at lunchtime
and it was the bone he was pulling
i had a double compound fracture

and the other is when i cut my finger off and the doctors were touching exposed nerve endings to see which were live and which were damaged
that was pretty painful
SW-User
@Lilymoon it was in 1984 a different era corporal punishment waa still allowed in schools then
SomeMichGuyM
@SW-User What the...? I hurt just reading that!
dubkebab51-55, M
@SomeMichGuy I know,wow. He might win if this is a contest.
SW-User
Probably when I pulled my lower back.. I laid on the ground for 4 hours until I forced myself back up .. and all it took was an aspirin to alleviate the shocking pain I was in ..
LilymoonF
@SW-User Haha thank god for drugs lmao

Man im just saddened to read all these with so many people hurting:/ thats why i always say it could always be worse and someone has it worse then you :(

LilymoonF
@Disguised oh yikes
dubkebab51-55, M
Tooth infection,by far.
Honorable mention goes to impaling my ring finger with a nail gun and reaching around with pliers to unhinge myself from the lattice.I managed to not fall off the ladder or get too much blood on the client's new redwood fence and deck.Redwood stains easily when it's fresh.Applied neosporin,paper towel and electrical tape,finished out the day.A finishing nail by the way,not like a huge eightpenny...still though,the idea of >ka>chunk! nailing your finger to a fence and pulling it out yourself sticks with you.
Not as bad as various broken bones,true,but a better story.
I have a few decent gruesome kitchen injury stories too.
Graylight51-55, F
@dubkebab Maybe fewer sharp implements. 馃槸
LilymoonF
@dubkebab Yikes!!!!
Hit in the face with a chunk of flying metal. Shattered one side of my jaw, shattered my teeth, cracked the bones in my face, and broke my neck.
SomeMichGuyM

@SomeMichGuy Mechanical failure, it wasn't pretty.馃槅 Piece of a lift gave out.

I say between natural child birth without drugs or losing a foot and a small part of my leg is close second
Torsten36-40, M
its hard to really decide but I think when I was admitted into hospital as a teen when it was thought a aneurysm burst in my brain. Felt like my brain was swelling so much that it was pressing so hard against my skull that the skull itself was cracking.
Luckily it never burst though and I never really got many answers on it or maybe i did but was so doped up on morphine I didnt even let it register
