I'm trying to cut down on snacking

Especially at work, where I'd eat a whole tube of pringles in one go. It's been more difficult than I thought it would be, but this whole week I've only had one bag of chips. It does leave me feeling hungry a lot more often though, which I'm hoping will pass over time as I adjust.

Good job. It can be hard to change eating habits.
Maybe pack some fresh fruit or veggies? It's summer for you so they should be delicious and not too expensive.

@shakemeup That's a good idea

It will adjust over time. I'd also make sure you are getting a good sized meal portions when you do eat. Not snacking also helps with keeping teeth in good condition too.

@Thinkingdeeper Meal portions are definitely not an issue lol

My best tip for you is that feeling hungry won't kill you. For example, I am hungry right now, and I ate lunch today, too! I find that if I tough it out, and wait a couple of hours, the hungry feeling goes away.

@4meAndyou That's good advice

@smiler2012 I'm doing my best!

@KiwiDan i do not think for one minute you are not maybe tough but when you achieve your final goal it will of all been worth it

You have made good progress. It’s ok to have them here and there. In between you can fill it in with things like fruit salad, or some dry fruits.
KiwiDan · 31-35, M
@DareToSayIT Yeah but I was eating them every day at work, which is why I needed to stop. Fruit is a good idea - it's summer and there are some good ones available.

You can make it, try instead to have a good breakfast with proteins, like bacon and eggs for example before you leave home and then at work if you are hungry before lunch eat a banana or a joghurt, you can also snack with almonds or walnuts, not too many of course, try to stay balanced , drink alot of water because often when you feel hungry it’s because you are thirsty

@Sweetpoison Good idea!

Switch to a Mediterranean diet.
It's what saved my life.
I barely need to count calories.
KiwiDan · 31-35, M
@basilfawlty89 What does that involve?
basilfawlty89 · 36-40, M
@KiwiDan its not a diet like in the traditional fad diet sense. It's a lifestyle diet. You mostly eat fresh fruits, vegetables, nuts, legumes, etc. For fat you use olive oil, Greek yoghurt, etc. Meat amd sweets are eaten in moderation, if you eat meat.
MrBrownstone · 46-50, M
Try keto diet. Will cut down on hunger.
KiwiDan · 31-35, M
@MrBrownstone Which one is that?
MrBrownstone · 46-50, M
@KiwiDan No carbs. No sugar. No wheat. Eat meat,eggs,nuts,salads
The trick is becoming comfortable with being hungry. Hunger is hormonal, it comes and goes
KiwiDan · 31-35, M
@Ozymandiaz I figure it'll take me a couple of weeks to get used to it enough that it goes away on its own.
Longpatrol · 31-35, M
My snacking habits are reigned in by the fact my will to get up from my desk is less than my will to feed mah belly.
KiwiDan · 31-35, M
@Longpatrol I wish I had that issue
Snack on something healthy a filling instead
KiwiDan · 31-35, M
@metaldog I'm trying to find something that I like
@KiwiDan if you eat three good meals you don't even need to snack!!
