Thank you @bijouxbroussard. She is so mean to me. 🥺 🤭

Being disabled and unable to contribute anything could turn a person bitter. Especially if that person was very active before they became disabled.
It seems like your options are to find a way to distance yourself from them, continue as things are now, or try to find what his interests are or what he did before becoming disabled. Maybe he feels as though the world has passed him by, abandoned him. Once again, that could cause a person to become bitter. Of course that would take some effort on your part that you feel may just not be worth it.

If you are not interested in that man, just stay a mile away from him. If you think he's worth the effort, try to find a connection, and find out how he became what he is.
At least that's what I would do.

I have often deliberated this, its best to bite your lip.
its not right to be like that, but I have often thought whats the point in trying to change them now? they are old, they have little life left to enjoy, let them enjoy in their ignorance.

@Kcmzeph its beyond me. Its how it was back then. Doom and gloom. Let them live in their bitterness. He made a choice to live that way. You see it here everyday. All the political shit. It ain't gonna cuddle em when theyre frail and dying is it?!
Kcmzeph · 31-35, F
@Gangstress Exactly, he reminds me of old men here who are constantly arguing debating about politics, don’t they realize they are dying soon?
Gangstress · 41-45, F
@Kcmzeph exactly. And anything they say here or argue about is doing fuck all anyway.
smiler2012 · 56-60
{@kcmzeph] sadly this what can come with old age but there is no excuse for being racist. all you can do really is just try too appease him and try not too antgonise him
TexChik · F
Get a bag a peanuts in the shell , put them in the floor in front of him next time he pissed you off then pulverize them with a big stick or ball bat then look him in the eye and tell when you get angry you get in mood for crushed nuts ! And that was your last bag !
He might get the hint 😂😂😂

Who is that guy? Your father?
Kcmzeph · 31-35, F
@SW-User A patient at work
SW-User
Well if he is a "patient" and you work in healthcare then you gotta be patient. @Kcmzeph

My father is a dangerous person who needs to be ignored totally.
Others who have not said a thing after witnessing dramatic evil are grey rocked, like my sister is. See Dr Ramani on narcissist family on YouTube. Maybe that's what you had.

How do you deal with a toxic young woman who is overly critical, disabled and does not contribute anything aside from being a burden?
Stillwaiting · M
@Ontheroad Well .. I do NOT recommend marrying her .. just saying ;-)
MartinTheFirst · 26-30, M
@Ontheroad Roll that wheelchair off into the horizon
Ontheroad · M
@Stillwaiting Yep, that's definitely a wise choice. 😁
DearAmbellina2113 · 41-45, F
Disability means nothing to me unless it's a mental disability. Just because your physical body doesn't work in some way doesn't give you the right to be an a-hole.
Ducky · 31-35, F
I wouldn’t. I don’t waste time with freaks like that. Unless I had to, like if my job entails it or something, then I guess I’d just try to remain as patient as I possibly could.
LunarOrbit · 56-60, M
Depends on my relationship with him. I would be more tolerable if he was related and be more distant if I didn’t know him well
SW-User
Sounds like one of the residents I work with
Kcmzeph · 31-35, F
@SW-User How do you deal with him?
SW-User
@Kcmzeph I stay away from him and don’t interact with him unless I have to but it’s difficult considering the job
ShellSeeker · F
Anyone who constantly complains should be tied hand and foot, and thrown off the quay.
Pinkstarburst · 51-55, F
Don’t allow him to dull your shine. And never give up on him.

I knew someone who said his mother was like that.... what he did was love her anyway. He also showed me she was able to contribute... just not in ways others might have looked for.
Kcmzeph · 31-35, F
@SW-User Maybe his mother was loving when she was younger. It’s nice he understands her. Also irritability is common in the elderly
SW-User
@Kcmzeph The story is a sad one and no...he didn't paint her as a very loving woman.
Sometimes, we love people just because.... and we all need someone to love us...even if the rest of the world doesn't.
