I know what you're saying, but even in a lot of spiritual circles, such a thing is no longer recognized. And 'old soul' simple means you have lots of empathy, mental acuity, intuition, and insight into yourself and the world around you.
And everyone understands the 'old soul' concept was born out of the theory of reincarnation, right?

Yes. Very into the medieval and Victorian era and fashion since like age 5 tbh. I’ve been collecting old postcards since like 14, and I always watched old movies from like the 50s with my grandparents since I was like 7 lol.

@AnonymousJSS like being born in the wrong generation?

@XxJamberxX yes

Yes. It’s been a lonely world, but what else is there. One must live life as it is presents itself or figure a way around. I simply spent more time speaking with older people.
Your mom was and is blessed to have you. I did NOT like listening to my parents emotional confessions at all.

I have always been a mixture of a little boy and an old man. i've been told that before and it true, still to this day. as for your question, people say I should be a teacher or some kind oflife coach.

Some had said that yet never an adult. I was far too wild to be considered an old soul by any adult.
Yet looking back on that, I must question those same adults.
Which is an older soul? One that still questions others or one that remains silent? One that is wild and still does things or one that does little?
Which is the one that will learn the most out of this life?
Life is change, and in so changing there is learning. Not so for those that have given up on life and stick to just what they know from the past.
This possibly makes me older than just an old soul.

people used to call me that but as an only child I think I was just mimicking adults

Forced to be. Bedridden for four years as a child, I was forced to live in an adult world with adults. But my youngest son turned out to be an even older soul, to the point of teachers recommending family counseling because he was so quiet. Psychologist certified nothing was wrong with him, just very mature for his age.

Yeah, pretty much.

I def wasnt but my bf is. Even back in school he enjoyed swing from the 20's and old school jazz/funk music. To him a simle cabin in the countryside seems perfect to live in. I by contrast loved edm and rave music and love the bustle of the city.

I remember being told the same at school by a Teacher.
At the time I just passed it off as a throwaway comment from a hippy English Teacher (we had a few of those in the 70's) But she was probably right

People said so, because I read a lot, was quiet, and got along better with adults than other children.
I just think I had/have severe anxiety and kids have always stressed me out. Still do. Lol

Yep. Comes from having shitty parents who dump all their problems on you at a young age, among other things.
XxJamberxX · 26-30, F
@Allelse They sounded like they needed you.
Allelse · 36-40, M
@XxJamberxX Needed me? It's not my goddamn place to be needed by a parent, I was the child, I needed them.

I would say a smart soul, as I used to fix problems and butt into matured conversations and offer solutions.

@SW-User My parents were always thinking that children couldn't know better. They were right about me but I knew somethings too.
SW-User
@SW-User my parents were just self absorbed and selfish
XxJamberxX · 26-30, F
