Were you an old soul as a child?

My mother called me an old soul when I was listening to her problems at work and I gave her some convincing advice.

I know what you're saying, but even in a lot of spiritual circles, such a thing is no longer recognized. And 'old soul' simple means you have lots of empathy, mental acuity, intuition, and insight into yourself and the world around you.

And everyone understands the 'old soul' concept was born out of the theory of reincarnation, right?
