Were you an old soul as a child?

My mother called me an old soul when I was listening to her problems at work and I gave her some convincing advice.

I remember being told the same at school by a Teacher.
At the time I just passed it off as a throwaway comment from a hippy English Teacher (we had a few of those in the 70's) But she was probably right
