If my partner cheated on me, I will NEVER stop loving him or believing in him and motivating him to be his best. NEVER. I am not good with goodbyes.
I would totally wish all the bad things in the world for the one he cheated with, everything bad.
But I will NEVER stop loving and caring about my partner. I am not made like that.

@nobodyishome I know that feeling well. I loved my wife too much to give up on her.
Moneyonmymind · 31-35, M
@nobodyishome it’s easy to be taken advantage of like that.
nobodyishome · 31-35, F
@Moneyonmymind yea, it is. And these advantages obviously surface when I leave them. So, then they want me back. But not this time.
NOS4R2 · 41-45
Its never the same again. Even if you forgive. That doubt is always there, hiding in the shadows of your memory. I tried, but eventually left. The trust had been broken and it tainted everything else after that.
I imagine extensive time might help heal something like that, eventually.

Baremine · 70-79, C
@NOS4R2 it took thirty years for me to trust my wife fully. But the true breakdown and tears of repentance helped. You can tell if they are sincere. We have had 27 years since the trust was rebuilt for a total of 57+ years of marriage. It was well worth it. Just remember how Jesus Christ forgives us when we sincerely ask.
I remember how much I loved my sobbing wife as I held her in my arms and realized she was truly remorseful.

I would understand she's not ready for a relationship, and ask her to get in touch when she is. If I'm still available, and willing to bet the status of my relationship on her sobriety.
SeekingConnection · 61-69, M
If I loved them and didn't want to lose them, I almost certainly would forgive them. At the same time, I don't feel that two-timing your partner is something you would do if you had a conscience and really cared about them.
Gingerbreadspice · F
Yes I might forgive him eventually but we wouldn’t be together anymore. I couldn’t forgive if we were still a couple.
Ashly · 26-30, F
For me that’s unforgivable.
If they were capable of cheating once most likely they could do it again.
I would be willing to participate in a threesome if that’s something they had in mind but that’s a whole other topic
I’m rambling now… What was the question again? 😅

Moneyonmymind · 31-35, M
@Ashly the threesome part sent me 😂
Ashly · 26-30, F
@Moneyonmymind yea I shouldn’t have said that 😅🫣
Captain · 61-69, MNew
I would probably forgive her but she wouldn't forgive me, which is ironic because I still think Im the one who really wants out of our relationship so I can still try and capture something special before I die.

@SmileOnYourBrother Ohh let them catch you at your most vulnerable moment. Trust me. You will.
Nah, I'm a bit fragile in the abandonment department, I couldn't trust them the same way again and I need trust.
forgive em...... sure. that doesnt mean we are staying together though. LOL ill forgive em after I have moved on down the road.

You're repeating yourself now and you're not answering my question.
Where is the line in the sand drawn? At what point in your relationship after you'd first met her is what I'm asking.

@swirlie it probably varies from relationship to relationship. but, in this particular one, it was after about a year when we moved in together.

@YourMomsSecretCrush
Okay, fair enough. When you move in together, that pretty much creates an understanding within a relationship and yes, I would agree.

I have in the past, but I won't forgive again. I'm not that stew - pid anymore. I know she will just do it again if I enable her.
I never cheated. It's despicable. I never will and I deserve the same in return. Yeah, I'm old and out of touch. 🤷🏻♂ So be it.

Probably under that circumstance if it was a one time drunk thing with someone random. If you break up over every mistake or incompatibility, well you'll probably never be in a lasting relationship 💔

Yes, but I couldn't be with him any more.
MartinTheFirst · 26-30, M
I could see a world where I'd say either yes or no, I'm not going to preemptively answer yes though, that'd give them a reason to cheat on me.
JimboSaturn · 56-60, M
Yes.
I think so,yeah
simjks4 · 22-25, M
Yeah nah
Donotfolowme · 51-55, F
No, you can't cheat and say you were drunk.
You don't sleep with your Mom or Sis no matter how drunk you get. So yea that's that.

You have no choice to forgive them or forgive anyone cause you be miserable for the rest of your life leaving you with bitterness and you eventually turn the bitterness in on yourself blaming yourself when you wouldn't be at fault

What do I look like, Hillary Clinton??

OH sure! After they've submitted to an STD test afterwards and everything checked out fine for the next two weeks or so, is there really an issue at play?
hunkalove · 61-69, M
Depends on how cute her butt is.
Moneyonmymind · 31-35, M
