Its never the same again. Even if you forgive. That doubt is always there, hiding in the shadows of your memory. I tried, but eventually left. The trust had been broken and it tainted everything else after that.

@NOS4R2 it took thirty years for me to trust my wife fully. But the true breakdown and tears of repentance helped. You can tell if they are sincere. We have had 27 years since the trust was rebuilt for a total of 57+ years of marriage. It was well worth it. Just remember how Jesus Christ forgives us when we sincerely ask.
