What habit was the toughest to quit ?

WonderGirl · 36-40
Cigarette smoking.
@WonderGirl Better then than later

@WonderGirl We didn't know you smoked. Good thing that you quit.
fun4us2b · M
I think controlling food intake is the toughest - with drugs, alcohol etc, you can quit and go on, but you still have to eat!
being · 36-40, F
@fun4us2b same, relatable
fun4us2b · M
@SomeMichGuy Thanks, you too! It's a never-ending multiyear project, especially if your metabolism slows, you really have to pay attention.
@fun4us2b True!
FloorGenAdm · 51-55, M
Being underpaid. 🤑
being · 36-40, F

I quit cold turkey the day I found out I was pregnant but man for a year I just craved it.
@Jenny1234 Wow--good for you! My dad had a really hard time quitting.
teachmetiger210503 · 36-40, M

@SomeMichGuy you are welcome.
BittersweetPotato · 31-35, F
I don’t think I ever had a persistent habit that was that bad that I needed to work hard to quit. I do develop bad habits from time to time but I never felt they were getting out of control that I need to work towards quitting and true enough with time they disappear and I guess I develop other temporary bad habits.
Adogslife · 61-69, M
I quit alcohol and cigarettes cold turkey about 10 years ago. The cigarettes I weaned off with the help of patches. That was the harder of the two. But after 2-3 weeks, it’s not very hard.

If there’s an urge, just tell yourself, “That’s not me anymore.”, and get up and move. Sedentary is a killer. The devil on your shoulder will get you.
Umile · 41-45, F

Jlhzfromep · M
Coffee….. but that is more an addiction than a habit
Jlhzfromep · M
@WonderGirl after 25 years, I still miss it…lol
WonderGirl · 36-40
@Jlhzfromep I drink coffee day or night. It doesn't have to be hot. I drink a cup before bed.
Jlhzfromep · M
@WonderGirl I was the same way… drink the last drop and roll over in bed to sleep..

Cigarettes.
For me it was long time ago, giving up a relationship that seemed to be more of a codependency than love ….. it took me ten years to be able to let go ….
chilloutab2 · 41-45, M
I'm still fighting it... laziness
Defeated tobacco, cola and sugar quite easily a long time ago. But laziness is proving too difficult :-(
smileylovesgaming · 31-35, F
Usually the top 3 is smoking or alcohol or drug's. One u never really hear about is caffeine. It can be just as hard to stop.
Biting my fingernails. I stopped when I was in my mid-fifties.
@rinkydinkydoink Now you only bite your toenails? 😉
@SomeMichGuy

Ha! Into my early 30s lol (didn't eat toe jam since I was, like... 5 maybe?!)

Showing any level of civility to jackasses, just ask SimilarWorlds they will agree with me. Not that you are one, just so you know.
The belief that I couldn't make it by myself. Then I wasted years. Then I divorced him. Then I thrived happily.
