Liberal, I think capitalism sucks for most people. It stimulates innovation but at what cost? So does war. No one works hard enough to be a billionaire. We need to work for the common good. Some are so scared that others are undeserving of what they get. Hierarchical systems fail when they become corrupted or toppled. I think that with AI we have the opportunity to have a nonhierarchical system that can make better informed decisions. AI can provide oversight. We need to eliminate wars and the profit of war. The monetary system needs major repair. Decisions regarding Housing, energy, and water need re-evaluation without corruption by robber barons. Health care also needs to become nonprofit while lifting the quality for all people. Even education and food production need overhauling and AI oversight. It makes no sense having laws if there cannot be justice because of endless appeals and corruption by the wealthy. AI can; again, provide oversight and raise alarms if judgements appear to be invalid based upon the evidence and existing case law. We have an opportunity to really fix the system.
LordShadowfire · 51-55, M
@Tastyfrzz I find that most people who speak in defense of capitalism don't appear to know the difference between it and simple trade. Do you find that to be the case?
Tastyfrzz · 61-69, M
@LordShadowfire Here is the definition: Trade is just exchanging some goods for others. Capitalism is the economic system where a privileged class (the bourguoisie) has the private property of the means of production, and the working class has to sell their work force to them in order to live. In this unequal economic relation, the bourguois appropriates capital gain from the workers. So, Capitalism is not just about selling and buying things (this can happen in any system, and money is not something inherently capitalist, it's just a way to make trade easier). It's about the economic relation between the two main social classes.
PatientlyWaiting25 · 46-50, F
Socialist. I think the wealthy elite should be taxed and the money used to provide better public services such as education, health and welfare services. I also think utilities that we all depend on should be in public ownership.

@PatientlyWaiting25 I am so with you on public utilities. Might not work in all states but it's necessary in some. And it would open the door to move towards renewables. The public component in most places now is shareholders and that's what's driving cost to consumers.
Ynotisay · M
@anythingoes477 It's interesting how the "ism's" just become one thing. People don't get nuance but they understand an enemy which is what they're fed.
"Illion" as in million and billion is another. I don't think most truly understand how much a billion really is. Trump increased his personal wealth by more than $2 BILLION last year. If you were to stack $100 bills it would reach more than 7,000 feet to get to 2 billion. About 1.3 miles. But MAGA just blinks. A million, billion, trillion...it's all the same.
badminton · 61-69, MVIP
I'm a New Deal democrat, anti- war, pro-equal rights, pro-working class, anti-billionaire, militant environmentist.
AthrillatheHunt · 56-60, M
@badminton why didn’t you just say hippie ?
badminton · 61-69, MVIP
@AthrillatheHunt Partly. But I'm more accurately called an FDR New Dealer type. I want the billionaires driven out of our national politics. Our taxes should go to domestic improvements, not endless wars concocted by war profiteers.

conservative capitalist all the way. it's a proven system that has outperformed socialism everywhere.
lovelyguy143334 · 36-40, M
@milkymum1 true.
boudinMan · 61-69, M
@milkymum1 that is absolutely ridiculous. no system is perfect, but capitalism has lifted more people out of poverty than socialism has.
samueltyler2 · 80-89, M
@boudinMan where did you finish nd thevda5a to support that? But, why not democratic socialism as a compromise?
KerriJC · F
swirlie · 31-35, F
@KerriJC
...so then, you're more conservative in your thinking than liberal, is that correct? In what ways? Can you give an example of conservative leaning?
GoFish · 41-45, F

I on the other hand am a Liberal Conservative. I regard myself as a free trade libertarian sceptic.

Neither I'm an American common Sense party to keep the boat on course I don't lean too far left or too far right trying to sink the nation and build a self-made f****** dynasty for the weirdos or the fat cats. Red white and blue little man working class disabled and veteran. Those kind of people that's the party I represent
I keep forgetting. I think I'm conservative but Im always agreeing with liberals these days
MommyLucy · 36-40, F
I am a left wing Social Democrat basically Social Democracy is the most left wing you can go WITHOUT being a pure Socialist so basically I am still a Capitalist BUT I strongly support Universal free tax paid Healthcare, a generous welfare safety net for the elderly and disabled, guaranteed sick pay, guaranteed paid vacation time, guaranteed workers rights, strong environment policies, free tax paid education and good free tax paid public services but I want those things within a regulated fair Capitalist free market society! 😇😇😇 I also believe we should tax billionares VERY high because nobody should get that much money while children are starving in third world countries! 😤😤😤 Basically the exact same system as the Scandinavian countries which is a form of Liberalism called Social Democracy which is the most left wing you can go while still being a Liberal! 😘😘😘 Bernie Sandars and AOC are my two favourite politicians and I strongly believe generous Socialist policies are NOT the same as pure Socialism and we need more Socialist policies for sure but not pure Socialism! 😇😇😇
I think they’re all devils tbh
ChipmunkErnie · 70-79, M
Like most people, I'm a bit of both, depending on the issue.
I like to think of myself as centrist. Or a conservative that is pro choice and pro gay rights thoes are mainly the only views i have that are liberal

Politically I don't fit into any boxes, defy simplistic labels. There's good and bad in all political doctrines.
ArtieKat · M
@LordShadowfire Yes and no. I approve of their opposition to DEI - positive discrimination generally backfires because it discriminates against someone else. That's the only positive which comes to mind immediately
LordShadowfire · 51-55, M
@ArtieKat I can see where that could seem to be a smart position, but as a result of that, thousands of highly qualified people got fired from the FAA, and planes go crashy.
ArtieKat · M
@LordShadowfire Yes. I don't approve of the way the Trump administration went about returning to some sort of commonsense position though
No. But without us leftists you'll all die and possibly take humanity with you, of course!
Wireman · 31-35, M
I can't decide. They are all from the same team, and we have to pay the price.
BohoBabe · M
Bruh, nobody under 30 is liberal or conservative. You need to add leftist and fascist as options.
boudinMan · 61-69, M
@BohoBabe same thing
DragonPhallus69 · 36-40, M
traditional social democracy conservative.
swirlie · 31-35, F
Forward thinking, all-inclusive, anti-MAGA, anti-Trump, anti-far-right evangelical conservative, pro-women's Rights, pro-choice, LIBERAL ALL THE WAY.
if i had a gun to my head id choose conservative.

im more of a libertarian..
Cloud7593 · 51-55, F
@TheOneyouwerewarnedabout I like the libertarian party too. It's a shame it never became a main party.
@Cloud7593 there’s no control over a libertarian. Therefore no control freak billionaires cash to grow
Cloud7593 · 51-55, F
@TheOneyouwerewarnedabout An interesting idea
Katie01 · F
Bit of both
LordShadowfire · 51-55, M
Neither. I'm apparently a radical leftist, because liberals in this country have become moderate conservatives.
Convivial · 26-30, F
I think this question shows what is wrong with American politics... The world is not black and white, liberal or conservative,... There are a multitude of greys out there
@Convivial we're not all capitalism tools, at all. But all mainstream Americans certainly always have been! Anti commies.
val70 · 56-60
Conservative. I want to keep most things alive that natures people. Excluding being dumb.
Ducky · 31-35, F
Neither. I don’t have time for politics anymore.
samueltyler2 · 80-89, M
@Ducky you need to become part of politics, your child's future is at stake.

I am neither. I don't define my politics based on what political groups define themselves by. Right now the liberals are more in line with my views. My views aren't going to change if what it means to be a liberal changes.
KiwiBird · 36-40, F
Just to confuse most of the world the major Conservative Political Party in Australia for the last eighty years (Formed in 1944) or so are called the Liberals.
DeWayfarer · 61-69, M
Rebel.

I recognize that both are controlling agencies. And that both are lacking basic humanitarian principles.

The majority is never right.
Justmeraeagain · 56-60, F
If there such thing as a moderate conservative I suppose that's what I am
I've always been somewhat independent.
I don't go by political parties or bias.
I'm not someone who's going to drink the Kool-Aid of a cult personality.
Cassieee · 31-35, F
Neither.. I'm somewhere on "my own" with a few people.. 🥹
