America has been so much better without him being in the White House. May he never be back in there again.

Which part was better? When we let the Marines be killed in Afghanistan and left American civilians there?

Fuck Biden.

Yeah, runaway inflation is just so much fun. Ant the entertainment value of the Three-Stooges inspired Afghanistan withdrawal is still fun to watch. Every time I’m doing a crossword puzzle and an stuck for a word, I watch a Biden presser and get so much inspiration.

By 2024, they will be hunting democrats with dogs.
@sunsporter1649 No time. Unlike you, I have a job.

@StrawberryMilkshake You obviously don't understand how it works. Part of what a laid off person receives is "unemployment insurance", paid by a fund partially funded by the State, and partially by the employers. This is not enough to live off , and is only meant to be enough to tide a person over until they get their next job. Now, because of the covid thing, the federal government has been giving a supplement in addition to the State payments, and people are taking advantage and collecting all they can despite the fact that there are "help wanted" signs everywhere, with raises in pay, and hiring bonuses!

There, fixed that for you.

@StrawberryMilkshake

Ok, so what we have here is A) someone criticizing other people’s countries while simultaneously ignoring their own country’s mea culpa faux pas that barely hide, and smack of, hypocrisy, B) won’t bother to look up facts before expounding on contradicting misguided diatribes, C) go from subject to subject so as not to explain anything that risks backtracking and jeopardizing the perfect angel image, and D) defending a country that never killed anyone because of course - it’s a Saint.

Yeah, we know where this is going. Let’s table that nonsense for now with issues of more import to Greenland. Perhaps the U.S. military should establish a stronger military presence in your country. I mean after all, the “decades-old defense treaty between Denmark and the U.S. gives the U.S. military virtually unlimited rights in Greenland at America’s northernmost base, Thule Air Base.”* Furthermore, according to Poul Krarup (editor-in-chief of the Greenland weekly newspaper Sermitsiaq**), he agrees that since Trump was wanting to “use Greenland more to defend North America and its strategy in the Arctic” and although Trump promised in his tweet on social media “showing a gigantic golden Trump Tower in the Greenland landscape”…

…“many Greenlanders respond to this on social media with posts like "’Make Greenland Great Again’".** So it appears that within Greenland there exists a significant population that supports Trump and efforts to increase relations! Who cares about big daddy Denmark – America can pay your bills instead while tripling/quadrupling Greenland’s economic growth! Perhaps an Alaska style purchase of Greenland may be in the cards after all! Realistically speaking, a closer relationship on economic, cultural, and tourist fronts would help Greenland’s development and draw it closer to the American sphere of influence. This way Greenland can see its future grow while expanding the U.S. defense treaty in Thule to more bases! A win-win situation for both!

To the previous issue, since it’s Christmastime and, oh well, it just so happens I’ve always had a soft spot for strawberry milkshakes instead of chocolate or vanilla (not that anything’s wrong with that), we’re going to let you ride on this one and let you off easy – but with a warning. Next time it’s a good idea to be better informed, honesty is the best policy, please develop a better argument, and remember - no one is, or ever has been, perfect. This includes your country and its lengthy military past.

Thank you for the lively discussion! It was fun reviewing Greenland’s situation and its possible closer relationship with the U.S. Now please excuse me while I go make another donation to the Trump 2024 re-election campaign as well as to the efforts towards the eventual future purchase of Greenland on behalf of America. Have a Merry Xmas and a Happy New Year!

@StrawberryMilkshake I had described the tuning of our economy during "better times" as a Ferrari built for the road and warned that it wouldn't last. That we needed to use the good times to invest in an off road vehicle. But that is something that seems to never get done. It's honestly amazing things aren't far worse right now.

@MrSmooTh
I started to take notice that IQs were no longer on the increase about twenty years ago. People have willingly become mentally lazy. Like this chick I'm bothering to talk with, runs off at the mouth without looking things up first.
windinhishair · 61-69, M
@MrSmooTh So true! From believing that Trump won the election, without a shred of evidence, to believing a coronavirus that has already killed over 800,000 Americans is no worse than the common cold, and that the safe, effective vaccines are the real killers, the level of stupidity is mind-boggling. And getting worse by the day.
@MrSmooTh
I feel like stupid people are becoming entirely too common though. It's scary how much bullshit people believe now.
Better? LOL. This from Trump hating CNN: "Carter’s economic net approval rating of -8 points in an early January 1978 CBS News/New York Times poll was the lowest around this point in a presidency before Biden’s -13 points”
@BizSuitStacy Still obsessed over Carter? And you people complain how we're obsessed over Trump.
@anythingoes477

Take it up with CNN. They ran the poll.
https://www.dailywire.com/news/disaster-joe-bidens-economic-ratings-are-worse-than-jimmy-carters-cnn-poll-finds?utm_source=facebook&utm_medium=social&utm_campaign=benshapiro
@BizSuitStacy Numbers speak for themselves. Bidens approval is at 41......with 3 years to go to raise it. The day the Orange Buffoon was elected his was at 47. By the end of his first year it was 41...and for his last 3 years it was never higher than 38...... and dipped to 32 several times. If Biden sucks to Republicans right now smile to urself...but at his worst right now Biden is higher than Trump was for the last 3 years he was in. Go to CNN...or FOX whatever makes ya feel good....but numbers don't lie. At his worse Biden is still better than trump was his last 3 years before he got beaten and kicked out.

@PeterJ 100% True
PeterJ · 51-55, M
@windinhishair our government was stronger in the eyes of other countries, our gas was cheaper, taxes where better and Trump would have never left Afghanistan the way this coward did. Especially not leaving our own civilians behind and hand all that equipment over to our enemies just to name a few things.
windinhishair · 61-69, M
@PeterJ
our government was stronger in the eyes of other countries
Our allies were universally appalled at Trump's election, and did not consider the US to be the strong nation it had been. Our adversaries, including Putin and Kim Jong Un, realized that Trump was so weak that as long as they stroked his ego, they could get away with anything. And they did. So you are wrong on both counts.
our gas was cheaper
Gas prices are the result of global factors and not the president. Neither Trump nor Biden have control over gas prices in any meaningful way. You are wrong again.
taxes where better
I assume you mean taxes "were" better. Neither Biden nor the Democrats have changed taxes in any way. Wrong yet again.
Trump would have never left Afghanistan the way this coward did
Well, actually he would have, because Biden implemented Trump's specific plan. Wrong again.
Especially not leaving our own civilians behind and hand all that equipment over to our enemies
All usable equipment was removed long before we left Afghanistan. Wrong yet again. The one area you may have a point is that we could have done a better job ensuring ALL civilians were removed from Afghanistan.

Would you like to try again? Do you have anything other than incorrect and deliberately misleading talking points?
boudinMan · 61-69, M
don't you worry... biden is gonna put a stop to covid. oh btw, anyone try to get a home test kit or a drive up covid test lately? it's loads of fun.
windinhishair · 61-69, M
@boudinMan The higher transmissibility of omicron is what is driving high numbers of cases in New York and DC. There is anecdotal evidence that it may be less deadly, but that hasn't been firmly established yet. We will find out over the next month. But keep in mind that if the case load is twice as high, and it is half as deadly, the same number of people will die.

I don't want ANYONE to die of covid, jerk. It saddens me greatly to read about young mothers and fathers with small children who believed Trump and think the virus is the same as the flu--the same people who beg for the vaccine as they take their last breath, leaving widows and widowers and orphaned children. And especially when a large number of those deaths were preventable to begin with. No, I don't root for death. I just want people to follow the science and get vaccinated, unless they have a medical reason why they cannot.

You don't want Trump to bear any responsibility for anything negative that happened on his watch. His malfeasance on covid worsened the pandemic in the US and continues to. It also worsened his own economy. He is responsible for his performance over his four failed years in office, just as any other president is. History will show that his presidency was one of the two or three worst in our long history. In fact, it already does. Even Republican historians rate him very poorly compared to other presidents.
@boudinMan
so, according to your graph, there was bascially no downturn during the pandemic.
I guess you didn't notice the right edge of the graph, where, in March+April 22,000,000 jobs were lost. Just a little 22 million job oversight - could'a happened to anyone, right? LOL!!!

fanuc2013 · 51-55, F
@LordShadowfire I disagree with a lot of the petty things he did, but he was responding in kind to what he was receiving from democrats, which was also very childish. And define "lying"! In many cases he was repeating the info he was being told by his advisors and "experts", so, is that a lie? If you repeat some misinformation that was told to you, are you lying?
@fanuc2013 He could have fact-checked them. And let's not forget, he flat out admitted to Bob Woodward that he was going to downplay the severity of the pandemic.

Another day riddled with anxiety because Trump exists. You probably shit blood you're so worked up.
@SumKindaMunster Trump doesn't just "exist." The 2024 nomination is his for the asking, to the point where no other Republican dares to even hint that they're interested. And he is the de facto leader of the GOP, where any Republican who opposes him is immediately branded the enemy.

When the orange shitgibbon is either in prison or dead, I won't mention him again.
SumKindaMunster · 51-55, M
@LeopoldBloom I was referring to the original posters obsession with Trump and promoting left wing propaganda to the point of physical discomfort. It's interesting to me that some people crave attention so much, they will talk about things that upset them just to have their anxiety assuaged by like minded individuals.

Somehow I doubt you will stop mentioning Trump regardless of his ultimate fate. 🤷‍♂️
@SumKindaMunster Hopefully one of those fates will happen very soon and we can find out.

@Human1000 @BlueMetalChick @BohemianBoo Italian fascism was different than German fascism. Absent is the futurist aspect, the reaction to modernity, granted. I would call Trumpism an American version of fascism.
@Human1000 Nazism was a very unique form of fascism, but it still had all of the major points. Cultism based around a strongman, anti-democracy, violence against political opponents, obsession with a plot, portraying the enemy as both strong and weak, and on and on.
Trumpism is also different from Nazism and Italian Fascism, but it also has those points.
Human1000 · M
@BohemianBoo Exactly. Contextually, fascism was a political violent orgy of post WW 1Europe, contingent on the circumstances of the “host” country. (Never took with the Allies). But, the lessons are there, those core elements, and the label should be used now.

@bijouxbroussard One concern with ranked choice voting is that it's harder to understand than regular voting. But if the voter just picks their first choice as they would normally, it's still counted. It would take a lot of education. We'd be better off figuring how to motivate the people who don't vote at all.
