@StrawberryMilkshake I love those who criticize Biden for pulling out of Afghanistan. Their solution was to stay longer and have more American soldiers die, and spend more money, and accomplish nothing...we should have gotten out a long time ago!

@StrawberryMilkshake it should be noted that "Bidens pullout" was completely the result of a new president complying with the agreements for that pullout made by a previous president...who made it with terrorists not the government of Afghanistan. Trump set the timeline and had no agreement whatsoever with the Taliban for a cease fire while leaving. But it was a good deal. The best deal. A beautiful deal...until it wasnt....then the blame ends up on someone else.

@StrawberryMilkshake That is not true. The agreement was made to leave....and when....by trump. Biden drug his feet on trumps pre-set day to pull out but ultimately it was done because the U.S. had agreed to do it...officially. Google it.

@anythingoes477 That is true, the agreement when to leave was made by Trump, but it was tied to certain things occuring, which they did not. So, he would not have pulled out until the agreed upon terms were met.

@fanuc2013 If you read the agreement Trump made with the Taliban it was not tied to any conditions....that benefitted us. They told him what day it would be effective....and Trump did not ask for ANYTHING in return for conditions. The agreement first of all was made with terrorists.............not the Afghan government...........so the deal was made with liars that were our sworn enemies. The U.N. was cut out of the deal. The Afghan government was...so NO ONE was to be there to ensure a safe withdrawal. Here's a quote from the exact deal......

"Trump secretly invited the Taliban to the presidential retreat at Camp David on the eve of the anniversary of the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks. But he shut that down — and on Twitter threatened to shut down all talks — after an American service member was killed and there was backlash over discovering Trump was dealing with terrorists for a deal. Talks continued in Doha however, and in February 2020, Trump announced that there was a deal. The basic contours: The United States was to get out of Afghanistan in 14 months and, in exchange, the Taliban agreed not to let Afghanistan become a haven for terrorists and to stop attacking U.S. service members. (which of course ended up being a total lie...surprise, surprise) The Taliban also agreed to start peace talks with the Afghan government and consider a cease-fire with the government. Also a lie. (The Taliban had been killing Afghan forces throughout this, attempting to use the violence as leverage in negotiations, U.S. intelligence officials believed.)

The deal laid out an explicit timetable for the United States and NATO to pull out their forces: In the first 100 days or so, they would reduce troops from 14,000 to 8,600 and leave five military bases. Over the next nine months, they would vacate all the rest. “The United States, its allies, and the Coalition will complete withdrawal of all remaining forces from Afghanistan within the remaining nine and a half (9.5) months,” the deal reads. “The United States, its allies, and the Coalition will withdraw all their forces from remaining bases.” The United States would release 5,000 Taliban prisoners."

Show me what Trump got in return for this giveaway to terrorists? We got no conditions for a safe withdrawal. We gave them 5,000 of their own back...the ones that hated us the most after being in prison for years.........one who later became the leader of the Taliban government and organized the attack at the airport. And he set a deadline diplomatically binding by making it an agreement of the President of United States to do this........so Biden had no choice but to try to follow it to the letter. There wasn't even any announcements made by the trump gov to tell all civilians and Americans in Afghanistan to get out by a certain date................why many were left behind. Biden stalled the pullout date from May 1st...to August 30th to give time for civilians time to get out. BIDEN did that.....it wasn't in Trump's agreement or timeline.
