@jackjjackson Ok, so it seems as if the point of contention between us is that you consider an increase in illegal immigrantiom to be "open borders". I get what you're saying, but usually when someone used the term "open borders" they mean it in a literal sense, like, there's no more rules or restrictions for people coming over the border. Right now, we do not have open borders. We just have a lot of illegal immigration and we're doing a shitty job of changing that.
To be honest with you though, chain migration is the biggest cause of it. Basically, you get one person to come to the USA and legally become a citizen. So they're legal now, and can receive government benefits. Then, they bring all their family members here illegally and have them live in their household. The one legal person can then claim their illegal family members as dependents, and thus receive welfare benefits like food stamps or cheaper rent because of it. You need to be legal to get welfare but there's no requirement to be legal to be claimed as a dependent.
I see that a lot in my neighborhood even. Many of my neighbors are Mexican and Dominican, and they do the chain migration thing.
Interestingly enough, Melania Trump is actually guilty of it too. Which is mildly amusing.

When Pelosi and Schumer are dead of old age, (may that day come very, very soon, please), the real radicals will take over, and the Republicans can't concentrate on ONE person to save their party.
@MrSmooTh I would say that's possible for any politician, or any human in general. I mean what the hell, I can even name things that Adolf Hitler did that I like. For example, he detested animal cruelty. That's pretty based.
I can't always tell with the new accounts (usually duplicate accounts) if it's sarcasm or for real.
The March 4th (or was it 6th) date did not work out. Something came up. They're floating a new date, March 20th, which makes sense. March 17 is St Patrick's day, followed by March 19, St Joseph's day, so that's like 4 straight days of partying, and no holidays to speak of on the 20th, so it's a good day for Trump to come back and the arrests to begin.
If that doesn't work out, there's some date in April that might work out. It would be after Passover/Easter, so perfect timing.
Unless you mean if Trump can win Golfing? That's not really clear, because he retains the same handicap he had something like 30 years ago, and it's also not clear how he got that handicap at the time.

Absolutely. The biggest mistake Democrats can make right now is to underestimate Trump's influence over the Republican Party. He has essentially become bigger than the party at this point, and has tapped into a certain vein of the American people which he exploits totally. This uber patriotic, American-first, anti-woke, anti-media narrative which seems to ring with quite a lot of America.
The left need to get their ducks in a row and better appeal to the moderate voter. And don't wheel out Biden for a 2nd term (if he can even make it that long).
Moderate democrats make up a majority of the democratic party, if polling is to be believed. We're talking about people who don't post on Twitter, who are likely to identify as moderate or conservative, who might take issue with political correctness etc.
The more vocal more extreme face of the democratic party found online don't actually represent the majority, and you risk pushing a certain type of person away from the party with the more extreme takes on the left.
Trump has many issues that make him unfit for President; but he undoubtedly has a certain draw which might make him appear a desirable candidate over a self-consuming overly-woke left. It's not a scenario we can rule out, hence the need to appeal to moderates.
