I haven't seen any around.
Hireath · 36-40, M
I've not seen one in years. I used to see in my garden. It's actually quite to hard to realize they are bats, cause they come out in the dark and you would typically think it's a bird.
cherokeepatti · 61-69, F
Yes. Saw them in a rural school area the night the boy graduated from that private school. They had installed bat houses around the school. Also had one swoop by my head when we were working and taking a break outside one morning.
Gingerbreadspice · F
I have done. I wonder if where I am is quite light polluted now but where my last home was, half a mile up the road I saw many in my younger years.
Longpatrol · 31-35, M
Indeed! They are small and cute fruit bats who normall roost in the mango trees in the neighbourhood park right where its densest so you have a really tough time spotting them. Otherwise there's always the Singapore Zoo!
JustNik · 51-55, F
Not often, but they’re here. I like seeing them and wanted to put up a bat box, but hubby’s not a fan. 😂
SethGreene531 · M
Yes, frequently. Common Brown Bats.
Even had a few sneak down the fireplace chimney at 3 AM, that I had to capture and release, or return to a shelter.

shuhak · M
Sure, hundreds of them (mostly in the warmer months). They fly through my yard in the evenings. When construction crews turn on their halogen lights at night, they'll attract moths ... which in turn attract bats (dinner is served).
bijouxbroussard · F
@shuhak I remember you ! Hope you’ve been well. 😃
I take it you don't mean cricket bats. A bit of a sore point in England, right now...
SchoolBelle · 61-69, F
@jackieash On the village green, in summer.
DunningKruger · 61-69, M
I used to have an office in the main administration building on campus, up in the top floor. One day, I come into work and see something stuck on the brick wall. A closer look showed it was a bat clinging to the wall. Apparently the attic of the building, right above our heads, has become the nesting grounds for a rare species of bats, and sometimes, they get down into the offices below.
ArishMell · 70-79, M
Occasionally. The most I have seen near my home were patrolling an area between some blocks of flats, where the street and home lights attracted a lot of insects.
hunkalove · 70-79, M
I've seen a couple dead ones. Back in the mid- 80s we had millions of miller moths and there were bats everywhere eating them.
anoderod55 · 70-79, M
Yes ! Early evening in Spring and Summer . Love to watch them 🦇 Sometimes find sitting in my peach trees . 👻
Julien · 36-40, M
Much less than back when I was a kid :(
There is much less bugs at night also …
Too much pesticides in our fields :(

JimboSaturn · 56-60, M
@faery That's when I see them the most.
faery · F
@JimboSaturn It's really cool to see... and hear when they zoom by. I like them because they eat the mosquitos 😌

Allelse · 36-40, M
@beetlebumdont Awwwwwww!
Vin53 · M
Go outside near a wooded area around dusk and throw some dirt up into the air, if you have bats around they'll come zooming down thinking the dirt are bugs.
Only in my belfry.
DrWatson · 70-79, M
Not usually.
But years ago there were some ....in the church belfry tower, just like the cliche!
