Ooh i Love exodus so much!! That band is the reason why i get motivated to do stuff, sing, ect. My fav songs are: Blood in Blood out, The Toxic Waltz and The Fires Of Division. :}
I've seen many metal bands from Judas Priest through iron maiden and Metallica to machine head, slayer, paradise lost etc.
But I still have a special place in my heart for Heaven & Hell. I saw the original Dio Sabbath tour in 1980 and then again saw their last UK performance before Dio was diagnosed. So that's my favourite metal band.
Mine has always been Def Leppard, closely followed by Dan Reed Network...
Not metal per say, although both rock hard when required. One's the classic Brit hard rock band, the other of the funk-rock genre...
So, the Leps. They come from my hometown and, back when they were starting - 1977 - I was a mere 7 year old child and, as I was playing out front awaiting mum calling me for my evening meal, Joe (Elliott) and Steve (Clarke) appeared with a bag of chips (think thick french fries) (there were no trays back in those days!) and we briefly chatted...and I stole some of Steve's chips!
They were impressed that I knew about Queen and Thin Lizzy and they'd recently started up the band..
So, brush with some famous local people...and I've followed them ever since... 'Pyromania' and 'Hysteria'....hitting the heights of classic albums...
@OldBrit Oh god, I am such a groupie over Dan! Met him a few times and just been a giggly teenager in front of him! Very upsetting! He probably sees me and thinks 'Oh god, it's that crazy girl again!'
I have too many favourites, but the one that stands out the most is Iron Maiden . Bruce Dickinson's voice is a special voices. Guns n roses. Axel Rose has another special voice . Evanescence is another great band
It's hard to pick a favorite. I like theatricality and humor in my shows, so GWAR is high on my list. Dark Tranquility is awesome. Anthrax is always a good time. I could do this all day, but I'll stop there.
Blue Oyster Cult was/is my favorite. I have seen 4 of their concerts in 74,75,76 and 97. They were the second band after Rush in the first live rock concert show I attended and all five were playing guitar at once! Also their “Agents of Fortune” tour had to be the trippiest concert I ever saw when they came out with the very first laser light show in 1976. I have stories!😎
@caesar7 Tbey we’re furious at the crowd in 76 but that was because Cincy was getting a bad reputation. About that time they had pissed off Robin Trower from pushing people in the front and Trower tried to mellow everyone out with his music and then quit playing. This was also before the infamous Who concert at Riverfront.
@caesar7 BOC played the shortest concert i ever anttended and they didn’t even play “Don’t fear the Reaper” and the song list was based on the album of “Agents of fortune “!
there are many, I don't want to say which one because there a lot and I will forget some. I can cite Cradle of Filth, Marduk, Death, Kreator, Motorhead, Hecate Enthroned, Emperor, Immortal, Impaled Nazarene....
Iron Maiden. Most ‘80s metal bands that are still around today are obscure has-beens. Not Iron Maiden! Still making great music, still topping charts, still winning Grammys, still selling out stadiums, still kicking ass! 🤘

My genre taste is more towards progressive metal and that’s long list Haken is one
I like Gamma Ray, they really have some amazing material. They are a German band with upbeat metal, and they have lots of addictive musical melodies. Kai Hansen has a very good voice, and at times hits perfect notes. The albums "No World Order, "Power Plant", "Land of the Free", "Somewhere out in Space" are fantastic. Outside of those, their other albums are still excellent with a little editing. I.e. skip / delete occasional bad tracks off "Land of the Free II", "Majestic", and "Heading for Tomorrow". The only albums I'd skip entirely are "Insanity and Genius" (except for the "Lust for Life" track, and "Sigh No More".
Anthrax is my favorite metal band. Favorite band in general for me though of all time is the Foo Fighters. Second favorite band of all time is probably Red Hot Chili Peppers. I listen to a lot of metal as well, but yeah my favorite band isn't even a metal band lol.
Maudlin of the well. They claimed to write all their songs during lucid dreaming or astral projection. Or could be shrooms [media=https://youtu.be/Y3tSi0QOs-8] [media=https://youtu.be/5dZy-TL4bfs]
I'm not a fan of heavy metal unless one counts classic rock bands like Led Zeppelin and Deep Purple as heavy metal. I like those bands, but most heavy metal is... well, well, well …
@SheDevil2vile Yes. There are more. I can't just randomly name them all. Since base and metal hard rock you asked for. Otherwise I love linkin park and other too.
Gotta love corrosion of conformity. Very chunky southern badass metal. Kinda like Pantera meets Skynyrd. And that southern NOLA sound with acts like Pantera or black label society, crowbar, clutch, ect.....
hmm that is a tough question. Amon Amarth is a top of mine. I dont really have a favorite band.
I used to be a big fan of Mudvayne. That is till i met the band and the singer was a absolute piece of shit. I met Sid From Slipknot also and he was also a piece of shit. Very rare to actually meet musicians in my experience that are worth actually meeting. And meeting them just ruins the music for ya and you just end up hating it
@SilkandLace2 i did not know that. I am not a huge music guy. My brother is obsessed with music and shows me bands here and there. I dont really know much bout them besides their albums and some from whom i have met in person
