I've seen my fair share, one I always think of and refer to questions like this is the slaughterhouse scene in In a Year With 13 Moons, it's a graphic scene inside where they turn cows into grocery meat. We hear a slow movement of Handel's Organ Concerto, while Volker Spengler the main star of the film recites in an unbelievable way a portion of a play that had to do with a tragic relationship of his which is shown a snapshot of in a previous scene. The words he speaks and how he says them, all combined with the music and the visuals of cows like that, and like i'll never forget it, and for me it's depicting what being a real artist is like, there's plenty of anguish involved. Fassbinder the director was going to off himself, but he decided to make In a Year With 13 Moons instead.

👆 the scene where she says " i hate my life" i like it because its those rare moments in cinema where the character gets real.

The court room scene in "A Few Good Men" where Cruise is questioning Nicholson. Jack Nicholson's performance was as powerful as any I've ever seen.
LordShadowfire · 51-55, M
@Ontheroad I loved that one. It taught me that everybody has motivations they consider to be good for what they do. And that in turn taught me the human capacity to rationalize anything. Colonel Jessup wasn't a bad guy. He wasn't even a bad man. He was a misguided man with good intentions.
From the movie "Glory" (1989). I saw it in a theatre, with my brother. People around us were crying at this scene…

@bijouxbroussard I've never seen this, I'm a big Denzel Washington fan.
@Baybreeze Denzel won his first Oscar for his performance as Trip. I was 29, and I took my brother to see this movie for his 25th birthday (because he especially wanted to see it). It was a very powerful movie. We were talking to Mom about it and she told us that we had ancestors who fought in "coloured" regiments during the Civil War, which really brought it home.

@bijouxbroussard I really need to see it, very interesting. Thanks for sharing 🌼

A couple instantly spring to mind starring Will Smith.

The pursuit of happiness 2006.
The scene near the end where he finally gets a job.

And the scene near the end of Seven pounds where he enters the pool knowing he'll be killed by the ray.
@Picklebobble2 the end of pursuit of happyness... No matter how many times I see that scene I cry every single time. It was so well deserved.

That Seven Pounds scene was Powerful. Very.

Bladerunner: like tears in the rain.

If you know, you know
Saving Private Ryan, the D-Day Normandy landing scene.

@ElwoodBlues I've studied this scene endlessly, what an achievement and as tribute to the souls we lost that day.

I recently found out that, as amazing as the coverage is, there was no storyboard.
the girl in the red coat
There are a LOT but the first that came to mind just now was the scene from Dunkirk when the fleet of ships and boats showed up... And the guy asks "Whatdya see?" And the answer? "Home"

Still gives me chills to this very day. ☺
Sophie’s Choice, the scene of her arrival at Auschwitz concentration camp, when she was forced to make an unbearable decision by a camp doctor. She had to choose which of her two children would be sent to the gas chamber and which would be allowed to live.

This choice haunted Sophie for the rest of her life, symbolizing the extreme moral dilemmas faced by individuals during the Holocaust.
