Sometimes there are not even words--hugs and being present help. Remind him to always keep his friend alive in his loving heart, and remember the good times. But it takes time...I am still dealing with the death of my wife three years ago...we do eventually find ways to move on and still find joy and happiness.

@swirlie nah, I think it was him being reckless. He had a history of reckless driving. Also had a history of heavy drinking. Jake told me that he had to take his friends keys a couple of times and hid them. Don’t know if alcohol was at play or not. But chances are speeding and reckless driving were.

Why did you make that quoted statement above if you now say that Jake's deceased friend had a history of reckless driving, which of course you don't know first-hand if that's true or not, other than from the comments that Jake your son had previously made to you?

@swirlie maybe it was suicidal. who knows whats going thru a persons head. i know he dealt with some inner demons. he was a good kid at heart.
